I don't want to leave.

This week has been perfect, thankfully the press quieted down and now I'm tan and sandy with Caroline. I'm going back to my family, wanting to see my mum and friends. I'm thankful for this mini break, Caroline is like a breath of fresh air.

The freckle faced girl next to me pulls her hair back into a quick bun, the wind pulling some pieces out itself. She lays back on her towel, face to the sun.

I can't help but let my eyes roam her body. She's in a green bikini, her tan line showing slightly as she stretches her arms. Her belly button is pierced with simple jewelry which would be surprising to anyone else since she always has it out for races, but not to me since I stare at it every time I sink down to my knees.

I spin her bracelet around my wrist, looking at my own piece of silver that decorates her thumb. Her loose bracelets jingle when she moves, adjusting her ray ban sunglasses atop her burnt nose.

I want to grab her waist and pull her into me, kissing her anywhere she'll let me. But she sits up, breaking my fantasy, "Checking me out, perv?"

A slow smile tugs at my lips, "Shamelessly." This makes her already pink cheeks deepen in color.

She pulls her glasses off and stands up, I go after her as she runs to the ocean. It's only fitting that we get absolutely demolished by waves on the nicest summer day which also happens to be my last here.

She dives in and I can tell she's done it a million times, a luxury I never got growing up. She grins at me, her smile shining as she lays back in the sea. Caroline isn't some metaphor for water or the waves that make it so enticing, but more the sun shining down to kiss the people who dare to stay out long enough.

A wave crashes over us, making me join her underwater. The laugh I've been so happy to chase rings out as I peel off a piece of seaweed from my head.

We go under again.

She spins around, enjoying this to the fullest. It's weird to have this view in front of me, the perfectly blue ocean with clear sky and trees surrounding me, yet all I can stare at is her.

Water meets my face after she splashes me, "You can't zone out in the water, Norris! I'm not equipped to save you if you drown."

I splash her back, "If I go down, you're going down with me!"

She shakes her head, pushing the wet hair out of her face, "Is that what you say every time you take me out in a race?"

"Little miss grudge holder!" I splash her.

"Please, you're still crying about tasting victory in the form of a redbull over your head!" Her eyes match the bathing suit she has on, meeting my own with a playfulness that seems deadly.

"I've definitely tasted red bull victory but it was not from a can." I grab her as another wave passes us, letting my lips catch on her neck.

She pushes me away, laughing, "You lucky man, Norris."

"I tell myself that everytime I see you, love."

She's taken aback from the comment, I see it in the way she hesitates, shutting her mouth and dropping back into the water.

Seconds later I feel a hand around my ankle, dragging me under in a flash.

I cough when I return to the surface, "Attempted murder!"
