FINCH.
———I blinked my eyes open. I was oddly warm, and I felt comfortable. I looked down at the green I was sitting in. Where am I? I glanced at the rocks protruding out the cave that held some flowers and seeds. I then looked at the other green masses around. Where am I?
"Oh! You're awake, good morning. You sure do sleep a lot, finally comfortable?" A brown cat appeared into my vision. They were very small.
"Where—who are you? Where's my brother?" I stood up quickly.
"Robin? Yes, I let him get some fresh air outside the den. I thought he was behind me, actually." He sighed, "I'm Twig'Snapper, the cat who saved your life."
"I want to see Robin." I looked around the cave warily, "show me him now."
"I assure you—"
I darted past the cat and outside the cave. Once my eyes laid on Robin's messy fur I walked over to him. I sighed and licked the top of his head.
"Finch! You're awake!" He smiled and looked up at me.
"What are you doing out here? With all these..strangers." I narrowed my eyes at the mass amount of cats around us.
"Oh, I just wanted some fresh air. I didn't know when you'd wake up, I was waiting for Mr.Pond'Ears." He shuffled his paws, "I'm hungry." I felt eyes on the two of us, too many eyes. It felt like the world was closing in on us.
"Who is Pond'Ears?" That's a weird name. I crouched down to Robin's height and shivered. "Aren't you scared to be out here?"
"No! Everyone's really nice! That cat—" he pointed to a grey cat that was pretty far from us, "gave me this flower."
"It's probably poisoned, have you talked to anyone?" I flexed my claws into the dirt, cautiously scanning the cats around us.
"Yep, I met some cats my age too! But they went out with bigger cats." He looked down.
"What were there names?" I looked up at the sky. The sun was setting. How long have I been sleeping? What if they poisoned me and I passed out?!
"I met Golden'Paw, Dove'Paw, River'Paw, snd Sky'Paw! They're super cool, and strong!" He exclaimed. I'm glad he's making friends, but I still don't trust these cats.
"Make sure you keep your guard up, I'll always be here if you need me, okay?" I nuzzled his shoulder.
"Pond'Ears!" He suddenly yelled. I looked up to see...the cat I stole prey from earlier? I gulped.
