"Rotten'Kit! Rotten'Kit!" I happily bounded up to him with a stick in my mouth, "look what I found!"
"Woah! That's so cool! It has green stuff on it!" He pointed to the moss that was stuck to it.
"That's moss, mouse-brains," Twig'Paw spat. I looked down at him and smiled.
"Twig'Paw, be nice, they're just kits." Berry'Nose chuckled.
"Kits?! That one is a kit?!" He pointed at me with his claw.
"Yeah, that's Pond'Kit, my friend!" Rotten'Kit hissed.
"Must have a delayed apprentice ceremony," Twig murmured before padding back to the medicine den. I crouched down and pounced on Berry'Nose's tail.
"Pond'Kit? Hey honey." Pearled'Gaze crouched down to my height and smiled. I smiled back, oblivious of why she was interrupting my playing time.
"Me and Blizzard'Oak are going on a patrol, you stay with Rotten'Kit, okay?" She nuzzled my chin with her nose.
"You make sure you keep everything working here, Pond. You're the strongest kit, but don't tell Rotten I said that." Blizzard'Oak nudged my shoulder with his paw gently.
"I love you mom and dad." I grinned.
"We love you too, see you when we get back, okay? I'll bring back a bird just for you!" Pearled'Gaze licked my cheek before standing.
"Come on, I feel bad leaving him here." Blizzard'Oak turned and began padding out of camp. I turned back to Berry'Nose and pawed at her tail.
I yawned as my eyes peeled themselves open.
"You've been twitching in your sleep lately," Twig'Snapper mused.
"That's weird." I shrugged and shook my head. He turned back to Berry'Nose and continued their conversation.
"We're going to have to bury him sometime, even if the clan doesn't like him," she murmured. My ears perked and I jolted up.
"Bury who?!" I yelled.
"Nobody? Talking about Finch, buying him some time." Twig'Snapper looked me up and down, "did you have a bad dream or something? You look wrecked."
"Quit all that yelling! There's kits sleeping!" Berry'Nose whisper-yelled.
"Kits?" I shook my fur out and tilted my head, "aren't they all in the nursery? That's pretty far away."
