Chaitanya's POV

I woke up to a gentle knock on the door. Hukum was cuddling with me, his one hand beneath my head and the other resting on my waist. His face was serene, and his warm breath on my neck sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

"The way we fit together is so effortless," I thought, feeling grateful for this beautiful connection. The knock repeated, breaking the spell. I didn't want to wake Hukum, but I knew I had to.

"Hukum," I called gently. He hummed in his sleep.

"Hukum," I repeated, trying to rouse him. He hummed again, still asleep.

Sighing, I carefully removed his hands from my body and got out of bed. I adjusted my ghoonghat and made my way to the door.

I opened the door to find Chote Kakisa standing there with a warm smile.

"Good morning, Binni," she said, blessing me with a gentle touch on my head.

"Good morning, Kakisa," I replied, stepping aside to let her in.

She handed me a tray with steaming cups of chai. "Binni, have some tea and get ready. Bhabhisa (His Maasi Maa) has sent a message for you to prepare for Devta Dhok."

I nodded, taking the tray from her hands. She left, and I closed the door, moving back into the room.

I kept the tray on the side table and approached our bed, where Hukum was sprawled.

I gently touched his shoulder, and to my surprise, he took me in his arms and flipped me beneath him.

"Good morning," Hukum said in his morning husky voice, butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

My cheeks flushed with a blush, and a smile spread across my face.

"Good morning, Hukum," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

Hukum nuzzled his nose against mine, making me smile wholeheartedly. Our eyes met, and the world outside melted away.

Hukum's eyes were full of love and compassion, and I saw something more – a deep need for someone to be solely his, someone who would stand beside him through thick and thin.

His hand reached out to cup my left cheek, and he leaned in to kiss my forehead. This gentle kiss meant the world to me.

In a world where many husbands assert their rights over their wives after marriage, Hukum was different. He prioritized my comfort, taking things one step at a time.

As I gazed into his eyes, I knew I was lucky to have found my soulmate in Hukum.

My eyes welled up with tears at his thoughtfulness, and Hukum's expression changed to one of concern.

"What happened, Hukum?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.

I shook my head, unable to speak.

Hukum gently stood up, and I followed suit.

"I'm sorry, Hukum," he said, his face etched with pain.

I was taken aback, unsure why he was apologizing.

"I'm sorry, Hukum," he repeated, "it was unintentional. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Realization dawned on me, and I understood his concern.

I took his hands in mine, surprised to find them cold. I leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.

To my surprise, Hukum's ears turned bright red.
