Chaitanya's POV

The morning was a whirlwind of emotions. Today was the day our little troublemakers—Hridhaan and Hridha—were officially starting playschool. It felt like just yesterday they were tiny, fragile babies, and now here we were, dressing them in their little uniforms, ready to send them into a world without us for the first time.

"Hukum, do you think they're too young for this? Maybe we should wait another year?" I fretted as I adjusted Hridha's small backpack.

Hukum chuckled, kneeling down to fix Hridhaan's tiny shoelaces. "Jaana, if we wait any longer, they'll be running this house like little dictators. Besides, it's just playschool. They'll have fun, make friends, and learn new things."

I sighed, smoothing down Hridhaan's soft curls. "I know, but... they've never been away from us before. What if they cry? What if they need me?"

Hridhaan, as if sensing my anxiety, reached out and held onto my hand tightly, his big eyes looking up at me with curiosity. My heart melted instantly.

Hukum pulled me into his arms, kissing my forehead. "We'll be right outside, waiting. And if anything happens, we're just a phone call away. We've got this, Jaana."

The drive to the school was filled with excited baby babbling from the backseat. Hridha kept pointing at everything outside the window, mumbling, "Baa... dog... treee!" while Hridhaan clapped his hands to some tune playing in his head.

The moment we reached the school, my grip on Hukum's hand tightened. The school looked warm and welcoming, colorful paintings on the walls, and a big play area filled with slides and tiny chairs arranged neatly. Other parents were in the same boat, hugging their little ones tightly, some children already wailing, others happily skipping inside.

The teachers greeted us warmly, explaining how the first day would be short—just two hours—to help them adjust.

Then came the hardest part.

"Okay, babies, Mama and Dada will wait outside. You'll have lots of fun, okay?" I knelt down, brushing my fingers over their chubby cheeks.

Hridha, the fearless one, nodded excitedly, reaching for a soft teddy in the play area. Hridhaan, however, clung to my neck, his grip like iron.

"Mama... no go," he mumbled, his tiny voice breaking my heart into a million pieces.

"Oh, my baby..." I hugged him tight, feeling tears well up in my eyes.

Hukum gently pried him from me, holding him in his arms. "Hey, champ, look—see all the toys? You and Hridha can play so much. Mama and I will be right here. We promise."

Hridhaan sniffled, looking at his sister, who was already exploring. Slowly, he let go, his little fingers hesitantly grabbing a block.

The teacher smiled reassuringly. "We'll take good care of them. You can wait outside, and we'll call you if needed."

Leaving them in that room felt like leaving a piece of my heart behind. The moment we stepped out, I exhaled shakily, gripping Hukum's arm.

"I feel like the worst mother in the world."

Hukum chuckled, wrapping an arm around my waist. "Jaana, they'll be fine. Look, no cries—just curious little faces. That means we've raised them well."

We stood outside, glancing at the small window where we could peek in. Hridhaan was still hesitant, but he sat next to his sister, watching the teacher. Hridha, ever the confident one, was already interacting with other kids.

As the minutes passed, my panic settled, replaced by a bittersweet pride. They were growing up.

Just then, I felt warm lips press against my temple. "Since we have two hours... should I take you on a little date, Mrs. Shekhawat?"

I turned to him, surprised. "Now?"

Hukum grinned. "We're free for the first time in two years. Let's get some coffee, just you and me."

I smiled, nodding. "Okay, but somewhere close. Just in case."

A short drive later, we found ourselves in a quaint little café nearby, one of our old favorite places. Sitting across from each other, sipping coffee, felt... surreal.

"So, how does it feel? Two whole years of parenting and we finally get a moment alone?" he teased.

I chuckled, stirring my latte. "Strange. I keep thinking I hear them calling me."

He reached for my hand, squeezing it. "They'll always be our babies, Jaana. But we're still us. We deserve moments like this, too."

Looking into his deep brown eyes, I felt that same love, that same fire, that had been there since the start. Hukum always knew how to center me, remind me that we were partners, not just parents.

As we finished our coffee, my phone buzzed. A message from the school.

"Everything is fine. The twins are having fun! You can pick them up soon."

I let out a relieved breath, showing the message to Hukum. "See? We did it. They did it."

He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. "Now that we know they're okay... let's make sure our night is just as exciting."

I felt warmth creep up my neck. "Hukum, stop. We're in public."

He smirked. "Doesn't mean I can't plan for later."

That night, after the kids were fast asleep, we found ourselves wrapped in each other's arms, the soft glow of the moon casting shadows over our tangled bodies. It had been too long since we had stolen a moment like this.

His lips traced the curve of my shoulder, his hands exploring with the same reverence as always. "Jaana, you're still the most beautiful thing in my world."

I gasped as he kissed his way down my neck. "And you... you still make my heart race."

His chuckle was low, deep, filled with promises. "Then let's see if I can make it race even faster."

And that night, amidst whispered laughter and slow, burning passion, we rediscovered a part of us that had been buried under the chaos of parenthood.

Because no matter how much our world changed, no matter how much we loved our children, our love for each other would always be the foundation of everything.

And that? That was the most beautiful thing of all.

This chapter was such a joy to write! Watching Hridhaan and Hridha take their first steps into playschool while Chaitanya and Ayushman deal with the bittersweet emotions of seeing them grow up was truly heartwarming. Parenting is never easy, but their journey is filled with love, laughter, and, of course, a little chaos!

I also couldn't resist adding a touch of romance at the end—after all, amidst all the parenting duties, Chaitanya and Ayushman still find time for each other. Their love remains as strong and passionate as ever.

Let me know what you think about this chapter! Your thoughts and feedback mean the world to me. Stay tuned for more heartwarming and romantic moments in the upcoming chapters! 💕✨
