*Arin POV*

As I bid my parents farewell, I told them I'd keep in touch with them and try to visit during the holidays. I take the train to Seoul and reach in around an hour. I get off the train and start walking towards what will be my new home.

Reaching inside the building, I meet Sejin waiting for me. "Hello Arin, nice to see you again. I'm glad you made this decision. I know it was tough but treat us all as your family and this building as your home while you're here," he soothes me. I smile and nod.

"Okay then, let's get to the dorms," he says, then starts leading me through the halls. "I'm gonna give you the rules then. First off, you'll have a packed schedule. Classes, practice, you name it. Got to be punctual, okay? Curfew's at nine. Be back in the dorm by then. And don't even think about sneaking out." He pauses, giving me a stern look.

"Oh, and you've to be up by five. And one more thing," he continues, "we need to keep an eye on your health, so there'll be weigh-ins. Nothing to worry about, just a quick check-in. We'll do that later after you settle in, okay?" I nod, the rules settling inside my mind.

We reach in front of a door that says 'Girls Dorm'. Sejin opens the door and inside I see a few female trainees relaxing.

Sejin turns to me and says, "This is your home from now on. These are the other female trainees we've had before you. Get acquainted with them and unpack your stuff, then come out to the hall. I still need your measurements and I need to introduce you to other trainees too."

"Okay, thank you," I reply curtly and bow slightly.

He turns around and leaves the room, closing the door behind him. I look back at the girls inside the room, who are looking surprised. Well, at least I wasn't living with boys. I bow down and introduce myself, "Hello, I'm Kang Arin and I'm 16 years old. I hope we can be friends."

A girl with long black hair turns to me and says, "Hi Arin! I'm Choi Yerin and I'm 18 years old. Nice to meet you. I think we're supposed to debut at the end of this year."

I nod, a nervous smile tugging at my lips. "Nice to meet you too unnie," I reply, my voice a bit quieter than I had intended. I glance around the room, taking in all the other girls. There are five other girls, all looking at me with varying degrees of curiosity.

"I look forward to working and debuting with you all," I say, trying to sound confident. A girl with short ash-black hair comes forward and replies, "You're not debuting with us. By the way, I'm Lee Sujin, 18 years old."

"Oh, nice to meet you unnie, but...I'm not debuting with you...?" I ask confused.

"Yeah, our debut is at the end of this year. You still have a few years to practice. Sejin-ssi placed you here with us because we're all girls. You probably would have felt awkward were you placed with boys," Sujin explains.

"Oh okay...thank you for clearing up my confusion. I'll have to ask more about this to Sejin-ssi. In the meanwhile, where can I place my stuff?" I ask. The girls point at an empty bed. I take the cue and start unpacking.

"Sejin-ssi! I'm here." I say while waving my hand in the air. I quickly hop over to where he's standing.

"Well, you seem quite happy. Did you get familiar with the girls?" he asks, trying to refrain from a chuckle.

"Yes, I did! They're really nice...but they told me that I'm not debuting with them. Is that true? You didn't tell me about this before," I ask, a small pout visible on my lower lip.
