*Arin POV*
A sharp, piercing beep jolts me awake. My hand shoots out, fumbling for the snooze button before my brain can fully catch up.
Ugh, I despise waking up early. I'm more of a night owl rather than an early bird but I have to wake up early today because I have to get ready and go to the company building which is in Seoul. They called me yesterday and told me to come at 9 a.m to sign the trainee contract.
I still can't believe I got accepted into Big Hit! I never got a callback from the three big companies though, and that definitely lowered my self-confidence, but Seokjin and his windshield wiper laugh lifted my mood. He told me that it was their loss for missing out on me. How could I still be upset after that?
I do my morning routine, then throw on a grey sweatpant with a matching grey sweatshirt and rush out of my room.

The silent treatment my parents give me in the dining room is too much to handle so I grab my phone and wallet and start putting on my sneakers, deciding to eat breakfast at the convenience store.
"I'm going to the company building to sign the trainee contract. I'll probably be back by noon," I say, breaking the deafening silence.
My parents sigh and my mother comes forward and asks me, "Are you really sure you want to do this? You know, being a K-pop idol isn't one of the most promising careers out there. You'll have to train for a long time and even after that, you won't even have a hundred percent guarantee that you'll debut."
"Mom, I really want to do this. This has become my dream now. I promise to work hard. I'll make sure I debut. I'll make you proud." With that, I leave my house.
As I'm walking towards the nearest convenience store, someone bumps into me and I almost fall. When I turn around to look, I see Seokjin grinning at me. Caught up in my mom's words, I had almost forgotten that he goes by train to reach Konkuk University in Seoul, where he's studying film.
We both catch up on breakfast at the convenience store and take the same train to Seoul. From there we depart and I reach my destination.
The company building is unremarkable, but as I step inside to begin my professional journey, its exterior holds little significance.

Inside I find Sejin, the same person who had given me the company card a few weeks ago. I go up to him and greet him, "Hello, I'm Kang Arin. I'm here to sign the trainee contract."
"Oh, of course, please follow me. I hope you remember me from that day, I'm Sejin. This place isn't very big, I know, but it's all we have. C'mon, let me introduce you to the CEO and founder of Big Hit," he says.
As he leads me through the different halls, my eyes scan the interiors of the building. Sure, it isn't very fancy but who am I to judge? We abruptly halt in front of a door with a nameplate that says 'Bang Si-Hyuk'. Sejin ushers me into the small office. A middle-aged man sits behind a desk. He looks up, his eyes scanning me with a curious intensity.
"Arin, meet the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang PD-nim. PD-nim, this is Kang Arin, the only girl who passed the audition we held last week," Sejin introduces. Hearing this, my ears perk up and my eyes widen a bit. I was the only girl who passed the audition?! No way! That meant that the rest were boys?
Bang PD's subtle clearing of throat leads me back to reality. He starts, "Yes Arin, I know it seems hard to believe but among all the candidates, you were the best one and also, the only girl. Your vocals and rap seem to be your talents. But I hope you know that to become an idol, you need to know how to dance too. Don't worry though, you can learn to do that here."
He nudges forward some documents and says, "This is our trainee contract. Go through it once before making your decision."
I take the contract and start reading it thoroughly.

My eyes scan the pages one more time, double-checking every word. It feels like a huge decision. It is. With a deep breath, I pick up the pen. My heart pounds against my chest as I sign my name at the bottom of the page. This is it. I officially took the first step towards my dream.
A/N: Heyyy, this was such a long chapter. Arin has finally signed the contract. The building tour is coming up in the next chapter. Stay tuned. Byee.
