Stepping inside, Aly found Karishma standing by the window, her face a canvas of worry and relief.
Without a word, he crossed the room and enveloped her in his arms, his touch a silent promise of protection.
"Tumhe aur hamare bachche ko ab koi khatra nahi hai, Angel," he murmured, his voice trembling with unspoken fears.
"Aur ab main tumhare aur mere rishte ko dobara strong banaunga, yeh mera vaada hai, tum dono se," he added, his lips brushing against her shoulder in a gentle kiss.
Karishma's eyes met his, her gaze softening with confusion. "Aly... kya hua? Tum yeh sab kya keh rahe ho?"
Taking a deep breath, Aly recounted everything about Rehaan's arrest, his tone calm but resolute.
Karishma's initial shock quickly morphed into anger, her face flushing with a storm of emotions.
"Yeh sab tum kya keh rahe ho, Aly? Tumhe sach mein lagta hai ki tumne apna farz nibha diya?" she questioned fiercely, her voice sharp with betrayal.
Aly’s expression faltered as she continued, her words slicing through him. "Karishma, meri paas ek yehi sahi rasta tha tumhe aur baby ko safe rakhne ke liye."
Her anger flared. "Aly, tumne jo kiya, woh ek pati ke liye toh sahi ho sakta hai, lekin ek insaan ke roop mein tum fail ho gaye ho." Her voice trembled with frustration.
"Agar sirf ek yehi raasta tha hume aur hamare bachche ko bachane ka, toh hume khud ko kab ka bacha lete!" she snapped, her eyes blazing.
Stunned, Aly struggled to understand her reaction. "Karishma, tum yeh sab kya keh rahi ho?"
Grabbing his collar, Karishma’s frustration reached its peak.
"Aly, Tumhari is pagalpanti ki wajah se Anaaya sabse zyada suffer karne wali hai. Uske paas toh Rehaan ke siwa koi nahi hai, aur tumhe aisa kadam uthate hue sharam bhi nahi aayi."Aly tried to respond, but Karishma's anger was relentless. "Shayad tumhe lagta hai sab kuch theek karne se hum khush ho jayenge?
Nahi, Aly. Tumne hume kabhi samajhne ki koshish nahi ki, tumne sach mein hum dono ko haara diya."
Just then, a woman named Meera, holding Anaaya's tiny hand, arrived at the door.
Karishma rushed to the girl, her heart pounding as she checked her for any signs of distress. "Anaaya, beta, aap theek ho?" She softly asked.
Anaaya looked up with innocent eyes. "Mumma, papa kahan hai?" Karishma’s heart froze.
She turned to Aly, her gaze a mix of accusation and despair. Aly stepped forward, his own heart aching.
"Anaaya, papa abhi yahan nahi hain," he said softly. "Lekin sab kuch theek hai, tum tension mat lo, mumma ke paas aao aur unhe hug karo."
Anaaya hesitated for a moment, then clung to Karishma, her tiny arms wrapping around her mother.
The weight of the situation began to sink in for Karishma, her anger momentarily giving way to a profound sadness. She looked at Aly with eyes full of hurt and confusion.
"Aly, yeh sab tumne kya kar diya, hum yeh sab kaise theek karenge?" she whispered, her voice cracking as tears began to fall.
Aly stood there, absorbing Karishma’s harsh words, his mind racing for the right response.
He took a step back, meeting her gaze with a mix of hurt and resolve. "Karishma," he began, his voice steady but laced with pain,
"main yeh bilkul nahi keh raha ki maine sab kuch theek kiya hai. Lekin main yeh zaroor kehna chahta hoon ki maine jo kiya, woh tumhare aur hamare bachche ke liye kiya. Aur main tumhare gusse ko samajhta hoon, par please..."
