Inside the massive expansive city of Mesopotamia, there were machines made entirely of dirt and clay, towering over all of the buildings that had been built as monuments and massive signs of power.
The machines continued to march, the people on the ground screaming and shouting. They tried to use basic and dull tools and weapons, having no effect on the legs and feet of the marching monsters.
Standing on the head of one was Abil-Ili, now a late teenager. Longer hair as he looked down at the people.
The machines continued to march without any thought or finesse, smashing whatever was in the way.
Fires were spread all throughout the city, creating massive pillars of smoke pouring upwards into the sky.
"You all turned on my Father! Betrayed him to be left for dead!" Abil-Ili shouted, tears running down his face.
His creations continued to commit casualties and carnage. The people continued to run and scream, homes of entire bloodlines and family trees being wiped out without mercy or discrimination.
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Raguel, and Remiel all ran into the village, their legs aching and burning.
"This is when I miss our wings." Raphael said, bending over to pant and breathe heavy.
Michael surveyed the damage, trying to think and plan a course of action.
"What do we do?" Gabriel asked.
Remiel gasped and covered her mouth. Her eyes were wide, beginning to water as she saw the devastation in front of her.
Raguel quickly grabbed her, getting in front to stare into her eyes.
"Sister Remiel, we need you. You can't feel this way right now, understood?" Raguel asked.
Remiel tried to shake her head yes, but instead she tightly hugged her sister. Instantly, she began to sob and whine.
"I don't think they'll be much help." Gabriel said.
The ground shifted and shook. More buildings were turned to rubble as a machine turned the corner. Smoke blocked its body, only showing massive pillars of legs. The wind blew from the other direction, causing the smoke to move and bit by bit reveal the massive clay creature. Staring with an expressionless, blank face.
Abil-Ili stared down at them, unable to make out who they were other than blobs of living people.
Remiel looked up, staring up at the blurry figure.
She wanted to lock eyes with him.
But they were too far, unable to tell if the other even noticed them.Abil-Ili was continually weeping and crying, his face completely red and stained with the trails of tears.
The ground shook again as another creature smashed through multiple homes in a single stride.
Michael and Raphael both jumped, having to tackle their siblings to the ground in order to avoid rubble.
More and more machines continued to march.
People running to stay alive were crushed under the feet of the beasts, creating massive splatters of blood exploding out with nearly every step. The feet lifting to reveal subtle craters stained with blood and bone marrow. Organs crushed into paste and bones turned to dust.
"Run!" Michael shouted.
One foot lifted high into the air, a family running together to get to safety.
The youngest son tripped and fell to the ground hard, crying as the darkness around them became more and more extreme. The foot coming closer and closer.
