Ash-Shaytān was sitting on a throne for himself that he had carved out of the mountain, looking down with a wide smile as the humans crowded around and sat on the ground.
"Now, who would like to hear a story?" Ash-Shaytān asked.
Everyone raised their hands like they were children, their eyes full of wonder and curiosity that only Ash-Shaytān could fulfill.
Ash-Shaytān laughed and leaned back, feeling his confidence come back to him. His body language and tone of his voice back to normal.
"Alright, is there any story that you wish to hear first?" He asked, making an apple appear like magic in his hand before taking a large bite.
"Where did we come from?" One person asked.
Ash-Shaytān laughed.
"Well you see, my dear Father...your Father and Grand Father in a sense..." Ash-Shaytān stopped as he tried to remember all of the names he had created and told them.
"Anu! That's right. He has created everything with care and detail." Ash-Shaytān said.
"He created the very planet that we are on right now. The rock and dirt beneath us. The blue sky and clouds that gift us with light from the sun, and rain to make crops. Water to drink and keep us alive. Animals for us to hunt and eat to stay alive. He created you to be the dominant race. For you to rule over this land as equals among each other, yet superior to everything else." Ash-Shaytān smiled and waved his arms expressive lying as he spoke.
"How do we show our appreciation for Anu and his creation of us?" One of the Humans asked.
Ash-Shaytān sat silent for a few seconds, trying to think of any possible answer he could give.
"You must...pray!" He said loudly.
The Humans all looked confused.
"Pray? What is that?" One of the people asked.
Ash-Shaytān was clearly and visibly thinking as quickly as he could, making it up as he went along with the Humans not smart enough to realize the deception.
"You put your hands together and close your eyes. You speak to yourself, but really your voice will travel to Anu. He will help you with your problems and give you his love." Ash-Shaytān said.
They all looked happy and excited as he spoke.
"But sometimes, he may not answer. So you must offer him something in return for great tidings and joy." Ash-Shaytān said loudly.
"What do we offer?" One of the people asked.
"Whatever you have to offer. Food. Livestock preferably. But they must be killed and slayed to show your dedication." Ash-Shaytān spoke.
The people all nodded in agreement.
"Do you think this will escalate into something bad?" Raphael asked, standing with arms crossed as he watched everything from a distance.Gabriel was standing next to him, eating an entire chicken he had cooked and grilled.
"I don't see how it could." Gabriel replied while chewing.
Raphael had his arms crossed, one hand stroking his chin.
"I guess you're right." Raphael replied.
They both turned around to see Remiel and Hakim playing with their child, small toys made out of stone.
"How is Hadi doing?" Raphael asked with a friendly and loving tone.
