After solving the case, Lisa took a sigh of relief in her heart. Upon returning to City A, she planned to arrange all the previous dating plans properly. However, to her surprise, after this case, Jungkook’s busy state did not change. His life seemed to revolve around work and overtime. Every time Lisa invited him out, his answer was always, “I’m busy today, maybe next time.”

But as one day followed another, “next time” often turned into the next “next time.” Lisa was not an impatient person, but after repeated waiting, the unhappiness she had felt before came back even more fiercely.

She had thought that Jiwook’s case would bring her closer to Jungkook emotionally and make their relationship sweeter. However, it seemed to be the opposite. The intimacy they had experienced in City D seemed like an illusion. Jungkook practically lived in the law firm, busy from early morning to late at night. He was either on the phone or email, or on his way to client meetings.

As if to compensate for his rejections, Jungkook would always give her a bag or other luxury items. He was generous when it came to spending money on her. If measured by material possessions, he probably loved her. However, as Lisa looked at the increasing number of gift boxes piling up in her room, she felt an emptiness inside.

These past few days, Jungkook had gone on a business trip again, and as usual, Lisa received a notification about a delivery.

The new season’s Tiffany necklace that Jungkook had bought for her had been shipped and delivered from the official website. The VCA special edition bracelet for the New Year had also arrived. There was another package, possibly a personal shopper order from overseas, but Lisa had no idea what was inside.

Other girls would probably be happy to receive gifts, and opening them would bring a sense of anticipation, like opening a blind box. They wouldn’t know what their boyfriend would give them. But Lida didn’t even have that feeling. She had no interest, not even a slight curiosity about the contents of that mysterious package.

Instead, she felt annoyed.

This annoyance reached its peak as she went downstairs to pick up the delivery and overheard a conversation among a few deliverymen.

With the upcoming Chinese New Year and the peak season for deliveries, the delivery men from different companies couldn’t help but chat while unloading packages from their vehicles. They were in the same industry, even though they worked for different companies but covered the same service area. It was clear that these delivery men knew each other, and after talking about their recent workload, they moved on to some casual gossip.

Since it wasn’t yet working hours, there weren’t many people at the automated parcel lockers. Ji Lin went on business trips and worked overtime every day, and Lisa had no nightlife. Recently, she had been waking up early due to her biological clock and decided to come to the office early rather than staying alone at home. That’s how she ended up having the opportunity to collect her packages from the lockers next to these delivery men. At this moment, they were discussing the most enthusiastic online shoppers in the office building.

“I calculated it, on average, I have to deliver ten packages a week to that ‘Little Peach’ on the 14th floor, and most of them are food. Can you believe how much of a foodie this girl is? Let me tell you, I also remember ‘Little Peach.’ I have about five or six packages going from my end every week. Don’t be fooled by her foodie status; she’s actually a pretty slim girl…”
The delivery men chatted energetically while working.

Lisa didn’t pay much attention. She entered the pickup code, collected her packages, and just as she was about to turn and leave, she heard a teasing conversation from a few guys behind the row of lockers:
