A WALK TO REMEMBER

Saturday, August 16th, 1980

As Lisa descended the steps from her apartment building, the morning sunlight gently played on her white blouse.

She wore a grey wool scarf draped over her shoulders and long wide-leg pants and carried a simple brown bag slung over her shoulder.

Reaching the ground, she was surprised to see Jeongguk leaning casually against a vintage Chevrolet Camaro parked by the curb.

He was dressed impeccably in a grey short-sleeve button-up shirt and white pants, with his dark hair styled effortlessly and brown sunglasses perched on his nose.

Seeing Lisa approach, Jeongguk straightened up, a smile widening as he greeted her warmly. "Good morning!"

Lisa felt a rush of pleasant surprise at his gesture. "Morning," she replied, her voice light with amusement.

As she walked closer to the car, her curiosity was piqued. "Is this your car?" she asked, admiring the sleek lines of the Camaro.

Jeongguk nodded, removing his sunglasses. "It used to be my dad's. I've had it for years. Thought it might be a nice change for today."

Lisa chuckled softly. "It certainly is. You're making my morning a bit more exciting."

Jeongguk grinned and opened the passenger door for her. "Glad to hear that."

She slid into the passenger seat, and Jeongguk carefully shut the door before getting into the driver's seat. He started the engine, the car rumbling to life with a satisfying purr.

"So, where are we heading?" Lisa asked, her curiosity evident.

Jeongguk's eyes sparkled with mischief. "It's a surprise."

As they drove through the city, Lisa admired the view from the car window, enjoying the change of pace.

Jeongguk navigated through familiar streets, but Lisa noticed he seemed to be taking a few detours.

"You're taking the scenic route," Lisa remarked with a playful tone.

Jeongguk chuckled. "I figured we could enjoy a bit of the city before our destination. Plus, I wanted to make sure we had some time to ourselves."

Lisa smiled, touched by his thoughtfulness. The drive was pleasant, with easy conversation flowing between them.

They talked about their week, shared jokes, and simply enjoyed each other's company.

After a while, Jeongguk pulled up to a cosy, charming café with outdoor seating. "Here we are," he said, parking the car and turning to Lisa. "I thought we could grab brunch."

Lisa's eyes lit up with delight as they got out of the car and walked hand in hand towards the café.

After a pleasant afternoon at the café, Lisa and Jeongguk strolled hand in hand through a nearby park, enjoying the crisp, sunny weather.
