"I'm glad that you and I have an off day today." I say to Pete.

"How do you feel about a date night?" He asks me.

"I would love to have one. I think its a great idea. A relaxing one." I state.

"A relaxing one is exactly. What we need." He agrees.

"I'm down for that. I'll let you plan it." I say.

"I'm down to plan it." He says.

"Alright." I say. I go into my bunk to let him plan. I read some of my comics that I can't wait to just relax today. We don't have a show which means time to just be.

"We're all set up." He says.

"Awesome. Do I need to get ready?" I ask him.

"Not yet." he says. "I told the bus driver where to go."

I look at him. "So we have some time."

"We do. Mind if I join you?" He asks.

"I was reading. Yes you can." I say.

  "Comics?" He asks me.

"Yes." I say. I start chatting with him about it. I'm a massive nerd. I love comics, scifi, and many other things. It means a lot to me to talk about things other than music with Pete. I love music more.

"I think that you're wrong." He says. We're arguing about something dumb.

"No I'm right." I say, sticking my tongue out at him. We rarely argue. When we do its about dumb stuff we have no control over.

"Wait how is that possible?" He asks.

"Because its fiction." I say. "If it was real life it wouldn't be."

  "Yeah." He agrees.

We get to our destination. Pete offers his hand. "Shall we? Oh and grab your bag." He says.

I take his hand in mine and grab my bag. "Where are we going?" I ask.

"you'll find out." he grabs his bag.

We walk off the bus. We walk to wherever Pete set us up to go. He leads us to a hotel. "I figured a night odd the bus would be nice." He says.

"An actual bed sounds lovely." I agree.

"I thought you would." He says.

We go to our room for the night. A night off away from the band is great. Tour is draining sometimes so we definitely need this night.

"This is beautiful." I say as I start to change.

"We're going to have dinner in the restaurant. Then back up here." He states.

  "A relaxing night." I say.

"Yes which is what we both deserve." he says as he changes.

"It really is. Maybe a massage after dinner." I ask.

"Yes a massage is doable." he says.

We leave to go to the restaurant. I'm so lucky that he planned this amazing night for us.

"Its changed our lives." I state to him. "Being married."

"It has changed our lives. I can't imagine my life without you." he says.

  "Neither can I." I say.

"It has changed so much. We've come so far over the past two decades." He says.

"It has in the best ways. I love you so much." I say.

We sit down at our table. We start having a conversation. I love that we're having a relaxing night. I'm really happy that he's my husband. We've gone through almost everything together. I was only seventeen when the band started. I was angsty and we didn't get a long at first. Now I'm thirty-nine and grown into who I am. We are now married and one of the best lyricist and singer duos in the rock world. I'm proud of how far we've come.

"Patrick you okay?" Pete snaps me out of my thoughts.

"Yes. Sorry I got stuck in my head." I say.

  "It's okay." He says.

"Ready for my massage." I tease a little.

"I'll do that in a second." He says.

I flip onto my back. "I trust you."

We have a night of relaxing to ourselves. It's nice to just focus on something else.
