Amber and I walked into the great hall with our wonderful dresses on. We were late, but who cared. It wasn't that late! As I finished walking down the steps, I met Sirius. He was grinning at me happily. "You're beautiful. But why Late?"

"Um, Amber broke something and it took a while to fix." I replied, hoping he wouldn't be suspicious. "That sounds like Amber. Well, do you like you're dress?" Sirius chuckled. "Yes. It's amazing! I love it!" I smiled. I turned and saw Amber taking Edwards hand for a dance. I frowned. Wasn't Edward evil? Wasn't he supposed to give Amber something to help her like him? Wasn't she in love with Liam? I looked around and saw Liam staring hoplessly and sadly at Amber and Edward. I shrugged my shoulders with a frown. Maybe she decided that he was a jerk that no one should take notice of. As Edward leaded Amber into a dance, everyone else started to waltz in with their partners. Sirius pulled me away from the crowd and walked me under the stairs where no one could see us. He gave me a serious look. "Lola, is anything going on? Amber isn't with Liam anymore and you don't like wearing black earring studs but now you are. Amber doesn't like wearing any earrings at all!" I looked at him, confused. "I like black earrings. They've always been my one of my favourites." Sirius breathed hard. "Lola." He said warningly. "Has anything weird happened? Anything?" Sirius almost cried. I put my finger to his lips to shush him.

"Yes. But do I have to tell you? I don't think I can remember, but if I can, I couldn't tell you" Sirius stared into my eyes. And gasped.

Sirius's P.O.V

"Yes. But do I have to tell you? I don't think I could remember, but if I can, I couldn't tell you" Lola shushed me. I stared at her. She has changed. But why so quickly? I looked into her eyes and I saw a flash of black flicker in them. I gasped and realised what I had to do. I lunged forward and pinned her down. Her mouth opened to yell but I covered it with my hand, then I pulled out her earrings and she froze. I jumped off her, pocketing the earrings. "Lola..." I whispered. Her eyes rolled and turned glassy. My eyes grew wide. Were the earrings there to keep her from dying? But then she blinked and sat up so quickly, she banged her head. "Ow!" She cried, lying back down again. "Lola! Are you okay?" I asked eagerly.

Lola's P.O.V

"Yes...no. My head hurts." I groaned, patting the small lump in my hair. Sirius looked at me, waiting for something. "What?" I asked. "Lola, has anything weird happened lately?" He said quickly. I nodded slowly, remembering all the dark things that had happened. "Can you tell me?" I sat up again. Tears came into my eyes as I realised I was put under a spell. The dark things were hurting my soul. I needed to tell someone. "Yes...Sirius, take me outside!" I cried, a tear slipping down my face. Sirius helped me stand up and walked me to the side door without being seen. He pulled it open and we rushed outside. "Oh, Sirius! It's horrible! It was a spell! It was evil!" I wailed out loud. I knew that no one would hear me while I was outside. Sirius sighed heavily and took me to the bench in the garden. "Tell me everything and I won't tell anyone unless you want me to." I nodded weakly and told him all that happened. Abbadon, Lavender, Delphi, and Edward. Also everything I could remember about what they talked about in the forbidden forest. Sirius's eyes grew wider and wider as I told the story. He stood up straight at the end. "Dawn! We need to tell Dawn! And Harry! Yes, Harry definetly! He's Headmaster!" Sirius cried.

I stopped him. "I know, we will, but Sirius, didn't you listen? Harry's...Harry's...paralized." He stopped in his tracks. "P-Paralized?" He looked at me, obviously shocked. I nodded. "We- we have to tell Dawn then." He started to walk off toward the side door but I stood in front of him. "No, I have a better idea." I grinned, a mirror glinting in my pocket.

Dawns P.O.V

As Neville and I were leading the dance, people around us were laughing in joy as they stepped in dance with their own partners. When the dance finished, we broke off and Neville and I went to the food table. "You're a good dancer Nev." I puffed, leaning a bit on the table. He grinned. "Thanks. But you are so much better. It isn't the same though, isn't it?" I raised my eyebrows as I was drinking some water. "Hmm?"

"I mean, Luna isn't here and it just doesn't feel the same as it was in my 4th year. You must feel particularly sad because Harry is here, but he's hurt. I fell so sorry for you Dawn." I looked at him. Sure, Neville was weak and Scared, but he had a good heart. He had some good humor. I smiled. "You know, I think you're a much stronger person now than you were in you're first year. Trying to stop me, Harry, Ron and Hermione from leaving the common room, and loosing trevor, and being the troll in classes and-" We broke off laughing. Suddenly, my reflecting mirror wriggled and put my hand in my pocket to stop it. "Neville, would you excuse me for a bit? I need to check on my feet. Dancing in high heels is never good." We laughed and I wen't into the bathroom. I pulled out my mirror and saw Lola's faint face in the dark. "Dawn! I'm so happy this works!" She cried. I nodded. "Um, where exactly are you?" I asked. "You're supposed to be at the Yule ball." Lola gave me a cringed face. "Sorry. Can I meet you in you're office? I need to ask you a question" She replied. I nodded my head. This might be something important. "Password is 'Stay Safe'. I'll meet you there."

We nodded and then I saw darkness in the mirror. I hurried out of the bathroom and looked around for Wren. Neville came by and I tapped him on the shoulder. "Have you seen Wren?" I asked Neville. He made a painful expression, looked around, and pointed at the event place. "I saw a flash of her blue wooly jumper she always wears. She's probably at the events with her broomstick." I thanked him and went over to the events. Wren was standing at the quidditch event, cheering on a Ravenclaw team member. "Wren, may I have a minute please?" I asked. She nodded and sidled next to me. "What's up?" She asked casually. "I need to speak to a student for a time. You know the timetable and rules so I want you to take over my place at the yule ball tonight. Okay?"

"Sure thing" She replied with a smile, and walked back over to the events, clapping the Ravenclaw girl on the back.
