On my way home I realized that she still has my jacket but decided she could keep it because why the fuck not? I walk past a hardware store, stopping in the middle of the road to let my mind wander to the time I over-heard Roschelle and Harry’s conversation about how she’s about to lose her apartment and when she asked Harry to increase her wage. And the way he admitted that the bakery isn’t doing alright as well.

I twist my lips to the side and tap my foot on the hard stone beneath it as I come up with an idea. Without another thought, I walk in and head to the cardboard section and grab two boxes. Carrying the two, I walk to the stationary section and throw in some wood-glue and a few different color markers.

I walk to the till and throw the boxes onto the table. The woman behind the till is a young girl about the same age as Roschelle and I. Her hair is short and a dark shade of brown, her eyebrows sharp and the left one covered with an eyebrow piercing. Her nose is sharp and also has a piercing on its left, her lips plump and the middle, again, being covered with a labret piercing.

She chews gum with her mouth open, scanning the products and packing the glue and markers in a small plastic bag. “Your total is 195.” She speaks. I reach into the back of my jeans pocket to take out a two-hundred dollar bill and slid it over to her. Her bracelets jingles as she pulls the register back and gives me my change. I give her a polite smile and grab the plastic bag in one hand and the two boxes in the other. “Nice ass” She calls out, and I turn my head over my shoulder to look at her.

“You say that to all your customers?” I ask. “Only the ones I find hot and I wanna get together with,” She looks me up and down as if she’s going to use this memory for her pleasure which makes me wanna throw up. “Even if it’s for one night.” She’s still swirling that gum in her mouth around like a fucking cow. “Listen, darling. If you want to be keeping a pretty face like yours the way it is now, I suggest you stop talking to me like that. It’s fucking disgusting and you're not going to get a man tied up in your bed sheets or closet with you if you continue this type of shit, alright?” I say in a calm town.

She doesn’t look the slightest bit of offended but her look from sizing me up went to angry and disgusted at me. I don’t know if that's because someone finally told her the common sense she needed to hear. “I strongly advise you don’t do shit like this again to future customers.” I give her a smile and walk out saying, “Have a good night, sweetheart.” and add in a little wave of my hand.

I reach my house not long after and I’m met with a big surprise in a fur coat and heels. What the actual fuck?”

“Winter, what are you doing here this late?” I ask with irritation. I just wanted to come home, get into my pajama’s, make me a nice good cup of hot chocolate and put on Barbie Fairtytopia as I get my idea that I had to work. But no, a psycho decided to pay me a nice little visit.

“I could ask you the same thing, asshole.” She says, standing up from where she was sitting on my front porch.  I walk toward my door, setting the boxes down and getting my keys from my front pocket. “So you going to answer me?” She asks, her voice turning up into high pitched.
