The Truth

Fatima was sitting in her office getting ready to leave for the weekend. When she gets a guest.

Monica: Mrs.Taylor, Ms.Collins is here to see you. I told her that you were heading out for the day but she assisted on seeing you, She says it's really important.

Fatima: I wasn't expecting her.

Monica: Want me to tell her you're busy?

Fatima: No, you can send her back.

Monica: Okay

Ms.Collins walks to Fatima office.

Ms.Collins: Mrs.Taylor I need to talk to you.

Fatima: Ms.Collins it's the end of the day and I'm ready to go home to my husband.

Ms.Collins: I know Mrs. Taylor and I'm sorry, but it's important that I talk to you now. It'll only take all of 10 mins.

Fatima: Close the door and have a seat.

Ms.Collins closed the door and sat down.

Fatima: So what is it Ms.Collins that couldn't wait to Monday?

Ms.Collins: Mrs.Taylor do you have children?

Fatima: I do, three to be exact.

Ms.Collins: Well Mrs.Taylor my son is my pride and joy, he's my heart, my lifeline, my everything. He's never been in trouble, he's an A student, And as parents we try to protect our children and will go over and beyond to do so. I never wanted this for my son, I wanted him to graduate from school and become the honorable man that I raised him to be.

Fatima: I know exactly what you mean. I have two sons of my own. And will go throw hell and hot water for them, just as I would do for my daughter.

Ms.Collins: So you understand?

Fatima: Yes I do, but what does this have to do with the case Ms.Collins?

Ms.Collins: When I first met Chase, I thought the world of him. I mean he was charming, charismatic, intelligent, kind, and very vibrant guy. He was the star of the football team and everyone girl wanted him but for some reason he chose me. Well fast forward to years later, we were on 8 years of our marriage and 11 years together and after I had Jr. And it's like a light went off and that guy from college was no longer the guy I fell in love with, he was now a man who was abusive. Not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and verbally. And I guess he wanted to cut me deeper, because he became very violent with our son. And after years of dealing and dealing, it got tiring and things went left and I been living in this nightmare ever since that day. And if I could go back in time I would've just walked away and left.

Fatima: Ms.Collins what are you saying?

Ms.Collins: I think you know what I'm saying.

Fatima: Ms.Collins, did you kill your husband and your son just taking the fall for it? Is that what you telling me?

Ms.Collins: It was the evening of January 3rd, Jr had just got home from school. It's was just after Sr and I got into a huge argument that resulted into a fight.
