Fatima sits with her mom to talk with her before she headed home.

Anita: can you sit and talk before you head home.

Fatima: Sure, I got a lil time.

Anita: So how has everything been?

Fatima: Everything's been good. Work just been pretty stressful lately, Seems like the only break I get is on the weekends, and they go by so fast.

Anita: That they do, but you wanna talk about it.

Fatima: It's just this case that I'm working on, it's taking a lot out of me. I mean I better have the energy to give to my family after work, I be so drained and worn out.

Anita: You do know you gotta give yourself a break. You can't over work yourself baby.

Fatima: You sound just like my husband. Because he said the same thing.

Anita: Well it's true.

Fatima: I know ma, but enough about me. How you been?

Anita: I been good. It just feels so good to be back in my own home.

Fatima: I know it does. And Zi, just seeing my baby smile since y'all been back makes my heart smiles. Because he was sad and all over the place with his emotions. Everyday it was "mama when meme and pawpaw coming home, I miss them so much". It was hard seeing him try to deal with and express his emotions. And as parents we try our hardest to be our children's strength, peace and comfort. Zac and I always breed into our children that it's okay to be vulnerable. It's okay to show emotions, and never be afraid to do so. And I didn't know the sacrifices that you and dad had to make until I had children of my own. I don't ever want to see my babies hurting. Ava, expresses herself in was that Zi doesn't, she took a lot of Zac's strength. And  Zi, he's strong but he's a lot like me when it comes to certain things and situations. He shuts down and balls everything in.

Anita: You and Zac are doing a wonderful job with them. You can tell that they're loved and well taught. And yes Ava is a lot like Zac and Zi is a lot like you. But they're both strong in their own way. Zi is a very smart and intelligent 5 year old, who's way beyond his age. You were the same when you were his age. So seeing him is like watching history repeating itself.

Fatima: You definitely right about that. And funny enough he told me the other day that he wants to be a lawyer just like me when he grow up. I'm like "But I'm not ready for you to grow up" and I faked like I was sad, and he said "it's okay mama don't be sad, I'm going to always be your baby". That lil boy gives so much hope to the world and he's only 5. Although I'm not ready, but I can't wait to see the amazing young man he grows into.

Anita: He definitely will make a great lawyer or anything he decides to become.

Fatima: That's my baby.

Anita: He's such a sweet heart.

Fatima: So you sure it's okay with him staying over?

Anita: Yes, baby we don't mind. Plus we can really use the company. Being at that hospital with just the two of us was depressing.

Fatima: And here. ( hands her mom an envelope )

Anita: What's this?

Fatima: Open it

She opens the envelope

Anita: It's a check for 100k dollars.

Fatima: It is, it's from Zac and I. And don't say you can't take it, because you can and will. Ma you and dad have done so much for us, it's just a token of our gratitude and appreciation.
