Elizabeth's POV

I willingly let Divya drag me around a dark and freezing Vancouver, she wouldn't say where or what exactly was her plan but I didn't mind... or care much what it was, I was just more than happy to be dragged around by her. So I didn't ask questions and instead appreciated how beautiful she looked.

Except when we stopped in front of a carriage. "What are we doing?"

"We are going on a ride through the park on a carriage. A horse drawn tour." She signaled to the horse and the man standing beside it with much excitement that she looked adorable.

"Alright darling." I easily gave in and entered the carriage after helping her get in first. The man closed the door for us and soon enough the ride begun.

This wasn't what I had in mind when Divya said she knew where we could go.

"So what do you think?" Divya asked finally looking away from the window, but I was already staring at her.

"What do you mean?" I responded not really understanding her question, maybe because I was too focused on her.

"The ride, Elizabeth. Do you like it?"

"I do. I've never gotten on one of these actually. I've seen them everywhere in New York, London, but never got the chance to get on one or didn't cross my mind." I explained, Divya looked actually interested in what I was saying.

"Well this is my first time on one of these as well." She admitted.

"Really?" I said surprised.

Divya nodded her head, "Yeah, but I saw it the other day and I thought it was something I could do randomly when I didn't have anything else to do... which happens to be often these days."

I chuckled at her story and leaned against the seat—never taking my eyes off her. "Tell me about yourself."

"About... myself?" Divya tilted her head seemingly confused by the question—to which I simply nodded. "Well, what do you want to know?"

Everything.

"Anything you feel comfortable with sharing." I responded instead. It was a way more normal and non desperate response.

"Okay, let me think... I was born here in Canada, my parents migrated here from India. I'm a single child, I have nine cousins, I graduated high school top of my class, I know how to play piano and I'm allergic to cauliflower. That's pretty much a resume about me, there's not much else to tell." Divya shrugged—leaning against the seat of the carriage as well, her head turning to look at me. "I'm sure yours was more interesting."

"Different, but not sure about interesting."

Divya went to look at me like I was crazy. "Are you serious? You were a professional snowboarder at some point. That's pretty fucking interesting and cool to me."

I couldn't help the smile that made itself present on my face. A genuine one that this woman seemed to be easily able to summon when we were together or not even, a simple call or text was enough. I would give anything to be able to get the same reaction out of her. "Did that really impress you," I asked. That was usually the last thing people found 'impressive' about me.

Divya nodded, "You want to hear it so bad... but I guess I can be nice to you tonight and say yes."

We should probably be looking out of the window, so to enjoy the carriage tour, but I could not care less about the sight of a park when I have Divya just in front of me.

"Hearing anything nice from you makes my night or day." I said resulting on Divya shaking her head with a smile, probably assuming I was trying to flirt and not being completely honest.
