The next day, our dorm door was charmed shut. We heard Daph and Astoria laughing outside as Pansy rammed her body up against it, hoping it would unlock. See, Daphne wasn't just mad about Theo. I knew that, after all, she won. She was mad I'd taken head girl. That's why she's taken Theo. She was mad Pansy chose me even when she absolutely hated the idea of me and Theo being together. She was mad that no matter what she seemed to do, I came out on top.
I sat on my bed while Pansy rested her head against the door. Her entire left side was bound to be bruised after the way she threw herself at the door. Our wands were gone, class started ten minutes ago, and we were simply fucked.
"No one is even going to notice we're missing until, what? Your mums class?"
"Eh, Uncle Rem will but once he learns we're not in the infirmary he'll just assume we've slept through class." Pansy banged both her fists against the door, not that it mattered, I'm sure there was a silencing charm on the door anyways.
"If anyone is out there, for the love of Godrick, help us!" She yelled. I leaned back against my pillows. "How are you so fucking calm?" The banging didn't stop, in fact, she got louder. I waited for a lull.
"No one's out there. It's pointless." I told her.
"You could have head girl taken away from you for this." I nodded.
"That's her plan."
"And you're not seething?"
"Nope." Pansy sat on the edge of my bed.
"How?" I grinned at her.
"Cause what she's got coming is ten times worse than being locked in a room."
🗡️🗡️🗡️
"Hey! El!" Rose's voice rang across the yard. I looked over the crowd to see her walking up. I raised an eyebrow.
"What's up Rosie?" I asked. Matty sat up a little straighter beside me. I gave him a look, but made a note to revisit that later.
"I want in. Whatever you're doing to the Greengrass sisters. I want in." I smiled.
"Easy killer, I'm not doing anything."
"Oh bullshit. Cassie told me." I nodded slowly. I trusted Rose, I did, but she never wanted into our schemes.
"What's the catch, Rose?" I asked. She shrugged.
"No catch, I just can't stand Astoria and you're family. No one fucks with family."
"In another life you were a Slytherin." I told her. She laughed.
"Yeah, maybe. Probably woulda killed dad if I was though." I knew she begged the hat to keep her from Slytherin. She begged for Gryffindor like Harry, but as brave as she was she was too witty and too creative to be Gryffindor. She flicked her red hair over her shoulder. She was a spitting image of Aunt Lils.
"I'll give Cassie the plan details. She can fill you in." She nodded with a grin.
"Glad to be back in the game, El." Rose used to scheme with us, she was too smart for us though. She found them boring and we couldn't keep up with her plans, so she ducked out.
"Glad to have you, Rosie." I called after her. She waved a hand in our direction and kept walking. I turned back to Matty.
"Do you have a thing for Rose?" He shook his head.
"No."
"You're lying." I told him as I picked my book back up and continued to read.
"I would never like a Ravenclaw, El. I mean, seriously?" I just hummed in response. "She's snooty, and thinks she always knows better, she's rude, she's-"
