"Lorenzo Berkshire!" I called as I walked back in the common room after my chat with mum. His face went pale as he looked up from his spot on the couch.
"What's wrong bug?" He rushed over to me, cupping my face in his hands. "Have you been crying?"
"Hey! Min, not now." Pansy ordered from her spot on the couch. I looked over Enzo to her. She shook her head as she walked over to us. She grabbed my hand. "Sorry, let me take her."
"What?" I asked as she dragged me to the dorm. I looked at Daphne's empty bed and felt a twinge of sadness.
"You cannot do this whole thing after you've set Theo straight. You need to take time to figure out what's the hell is going on in your pretty little head before you sort things out with Enzo." I smiled with a nod.
"You're right."
"Always am." I looked back to Daphne's corner of the room.
"Don't do that. She sucked. She's dead to us." Pansy told me as she grabbed my hand. I nodded. "I mean it, Min. Don't go feeling bad for someone who clearly didn't think twice about you."
"I know."
"It's that Gryffindor loyalty in you." She bumped my hip as we turned to walk out.
🗡️🗡️🗡️
Explaining to my friends that I'd made amends with Theo, without actually making amends was harder than one would think. It also didn't help he now sat away from us at the table with Daphne and Astoria. Draco and Blaise almost bought it. Matty and Enzo wanted him dead. Pansy was the only one who knew what was actually going on.
Pansy pushed my roll towards me. I pushed it away.
"Elenora, I will go get your mother right now." I rolled my eyes and took a dramatic bite. She laughed lightly. "Such the drama queen." I smiled with a mouth full of roll at her. Enzo bumped my knee with his under the table.
"Want to smoke after this?" I nodded, struggling to chew and swallow the massive bite I'd taken of my roll. He choked back a laugh.
"Meet you on the pitch?" I asked. He nodded with a soft smile. I didn't get to see that smile as much as I used to.
"El, is your mum pregnant?" Matty cut in. I leaned over Enzo to stare at him.
"What?" I asked. Draco pointed at her at the head table.
"It's just a question." Dray defended.
"Not to my knowledge?" I replied, still confused how they gathered this conclusion.
"She's got an aura about her." Blaise answered for them. I nodded slowly.
"You guys will know as soon as I do, if she is." I looked back to Pansy who just laughed in disbelief. I shook my head with a smile.
"Potter!" Daphne called from down the table. I looked over, just in time to get splashed in the face by an enchanted cup of juice. I wiped a hand down my face to get it off. Pansy stood up from the table as the other end of the table began to erupt in laughter. I grabbed her arm.
"Don't." I told her. She glared down at me. "Don't think twice about a person who clearly doesn't give a shit about us." Dad was at the table immediately, following Minnie. I looked up at him with pleading eyes. Don't make this worse for me. He just stood behind Minnie with that look on his face. I'd only seen that look when Aunt Cissa was around.
"Miss Greengrass, my office. Miss Potter, clean yourself up and make your way to my office."
"Yes ma'am." I told her as I stood up, Pansy and Enzo on my heels. Fred grabbed my arm as we walked past their table. He gave me a wink.
"We're on it." He told me, Cassie ran up beside me.
"I want in." She declared. Fred nodded. Mum was in the hallway when I got there.
"Alright?" She asked. I nodded.
"Just some juice." I told her. I knew it wasn't what she meant. She gave me a nod.
"Go shower before it gets all sticky in your hair. You'll attract bugs." I laughed as Enzo nudged my shoulder. Bug, the nickname he gave me as kids because I was terrified of a caterpillar he dangled in my face.
"Tell dad not to do anything." I pleaded. She smiled.
"Then you can't either. Or Fred, or George, or you two, or Cassie..." She trailed off. I smiled.
"I can handle them. Cassie, Fred and George are their own people mumma." She laughed as she pushed me to go shower.
I walked back in my room to see everyone sat in our room, sprawled around, waiting for instruction. I smiled.
"What's the plan, boss?" George asked as I plopped down next to him, still using my towel to wring out my hair. I looked down at the Potter family ring grandad gave me over the summer. I knew in that moment I had to be bigger than a Potter. I needed to channel my inner marauder. I remembered Uncle James telling me about their prank wall, I glanced at the one behind Daphne's old bed.
"Hey, hand me those note cards." I told Matty who sat at my desk. He gathered them up and did, grabbing my quill afterwards. I turned to Pansy, "You have any tape?"
"Somewhere, Blaise, look in that drawer." She ordered. He pulled out red yarn.
"Throw me that." I ordered. He threw it over his shoulder to the bed. Eventually he found the tape and threw that too.
"Don't you have to go to the office?" Pansy asked. I threw my head back.
"Fuck. Okay, no one leave. I'll be back and then we start." I hopped up and grabbed a jumper from the hook by the door before heading down. I knocked on Minnie's office door.
"Come in." She called. I opened the door to see mum and dad sitting by her desk.
"Elenora." Minnie greeted, I smiled.
"Minnie." She glared at me. I put my hands up in surrender. "Sorry, Professor." She gestured to the chair between mum and dad.
"Oh, uh, no I'm okay-"
"El, sit down." Dad ordered. I nodded and took the seat. "What the hell is going on?" Mum coughed on the other side of me.
"Don't be a dick." She ordered back.
"Language, professors. Even if she is your child." Minnie warned them both. She gave me a sad sort of look. I smiled awkwardly.
"Nothing is going on, Daphne and I had a fight, she moved out, it's fine. I can handle myself." I told dad. He gave me a fatherly sort of look.
"Elenora, you caused a disturbance in the great hall." Minnie told me. I looked at her confused.
"I caused nothing, Professor. I don't even know why I'm here." Minnie pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Whoever trusted the four of you to raise children, then ship them off to me must truly hate me." She told mum. Mum smiled.
"Look, Min. She says she has it under control. I trust my kid." Mum told her. Dad glared at her.
"I just want to know why a girl poured juice all over our kid!"
"She has detention, Regulus." Minnie reminded him. I shrugged. She turned to me. "I want no more disturbances in the great hall." I nodded.
"Yes ma'am." I stood up. She shook her head.
"Or anywhere else Elenora!" She ordered. I smiled.
"Yes ma'am." She nodded, I began to walk out.
"She's going to do something." Dad muttered. Mum chuckled.
"Three Potters, a Black-Lupin, and a Malfoy, what did I do to deserve this?" I heard Minnie groan as the office door shut behind me.
