"Can we talk?" Theo asked from behind me the next morning at breakfast. Matty grabbed his wand from the table, I pushed his hand down.

"No." I replied. Matty pushed our hands up, I pushed them back down.

"El, you know I can do it without the wand." He whispered.

"El, please." Theo pleaded. I shook my head.

"No." I repeated. Enzo pressed his knee to mine.

"El, what did I tell you before your party?"

"Everything that happened from before my party has been erased from my mind." I took a swig of juice, carefully just incase they sensed I was on to them.

"I told you I'd make you make time for me." I let go of Matty's arm, him and Enzo were up and behind me before I even fully let go. Draco glanced at me from across the table.

"You gonna stop them?" He whispered. I shook my head.

"She said leave her alone, Nott." Enzo said.

"It's funny how bold you are when it's just her, but now that it's us you're cowering." Matty pointed out. I sighed and stood up. I placed my hands on both their shoulders and stood between them.

"We're done here, Theo. Go back to Daph and pretend you're happy. Make her make time for you, because I have none." He sulked away.

"Just like your mum." Minnie commented as she walked by, I smiled at her. "Always has her guard dogs."

🗡️🗡️🗡️

"I'm just saying, I could kill him." Matty offered for the tenth time as Pansy shoved a roll down her throat. She pointed to him.

"We're not killing anyone." I told him as I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"It would solve problems." Matty muttered. I shook my head.

"It would make matters worse." Blaise told him.

"I'm in favor." Pansy said as she wrapped up the cloth we used to smuggle her breakfast back. I turned to Blaise.

"Hey, we never thanked you for breaking us out the other day. You've been MIA lately." He smiled.

"Yeah, that was all Nova. When we noticed you weren't in Lupins class we knew something was up. I just went to your mum."

"Well, thank you." I said. He smiled at me.

"Anything for family, El." I smiled wider than i probably meant to. Blaise had never called me family before. I thought of him as family but I'd never heard him say it. He was guarded. It was him and his mum, that was it as far as he was concerned.

All my friends were family, the way I saw it, especially the ones that really were. Matty took care of me. Dray made sure no one said anything behind my back. Blaise had a tendency to bail us out of trouble. Pansy went toe to toe for me, no matter how big they were. Enzo was always there to pick up the pieces when it was all said and done.

Even Theo. I knew he didn't want anything bad to happen to me, no matter what went down between us. That was the hard part of letting him go.

"Don't go soft on me, Elenora." Blaise muttered. I laughed. Dray pointed at me.

"Theo's got a new room." I nodded.

"I know, I had to approve it." Enzo grabbed my hand.

"Berkshire, I swear to Godrick," Matty started.

"Enough, Mattheo." I told him, he looked at me confused.

"That was my full name." I nodded. "You never say my full name."
