A week had already gone by, and Jake was buried under a mountain of assignments joining the university a month later meant catching up on a lot of missed work thankfully he was smart and had Minjeong who was a lifesaver

It was 11 at night, and Jake was in his room revising his notes. His professor was infamous for asking tough questions and humiliating students who didn't know the answers. Jake had too much pride to be humiliated in front of his class who were already insufferable

The state of his room and his appearance reflected his stress the room looked like a tornado hit it and Jake himself was a mess with disheveled hair, a tshirt he'd been wearing for past three days and pajama pants. He squinted at his laptop screen, his eyes sore from staring and wearing glasses for too long.

Just then the door swung open and Sunghoon stormed in with a serious expression

"you've been hiding up in here for the last five days as roommates we share duties" Sunghoon declared shaking his head

"I have assignments to catch up on and notes to revise. Can we argue about this some other day?" Jake said his voice laced with exhaustion.

"No, princess not happening" Sunghoon retorted grabbing Jake and lifting him as if he was a sack of potatoes

"hey what the hell put me down!?" Jake yelled his protest muffled by Sunghoon's arm, the way Sunghoon was carrying him resembled a wrestling move more  than a fairytale carry

"don’t worry you’ll be fine, princess" Sunghoon chuckled tossing Jake onto the living room couch.

"don’t pull that shit again! what if you dropped me?" Jake shouted totally unfazed by the nickname, Sunghoon had a habit of calling him different nicknames and Jake was used to it after just a week of living together

"can’t guarantee that" Sunghoon said with a smirk "besides watching your reactions is priceless"

"shut up and tell me why you dragged me out of my room" Jake demanded.

"nothing much you were too occupied in your room, and I was bored" Sunghoon said popping a blueberry in his mouth.

"just because you were bored?" Jake asked confused and irritated

"yeah, it’s a roommate's duty to keep each other entertained" Sunghoon replied

"but I was busy!" Jake protested

"now you’re not" Sunghoon said with a grin handing Jake an apron that read 'wifey'

"Come on, we’re baking!"

"why do I get the ‘wifey’ one and you get the ‘hubby’ one?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow

"don’t think about it too much I just gave you what I had" Sunghoon shrugged  "put it on and measure this flour according to the instructions"

"okay corny hoe" Jake whispered to himself wearing the apron "do you bake often?"

"nope, this is my first time" Sunghoon said with a smile causing Jake’s eyes to widen.

"you know how to bake, right?" Jake asked nervously

"not really but nothing will go wrong if we follow the instructions!" Sunghoon said cheerfully. Jake wasn’t entirely convinced.

"You better be right Sunghoon, because I can’t cook or bake to save my life and I don't want us to burn this apartment"

Two hours later, though they didn't burn the apartment the kitchen was a disaster. They had messed up the recipe on the first try because Jake mistook vanilla extract for soy sauce. After remaking everything they finally had the muffins baking.
