By the time Jake got out of his last class, he felt like his brain had been taken out and left to dry.
The only thing keeping him going was the thought of going back to the apartment and collapsing on the couch and maybe watching a stupid movie with Sunghoon, he hadn't mentioned the idea but he knew Sunghoon wouldn't mind, he never did.
As he made his way towards the apartment building Jake's phone buzzed again, he glanced at the screen half expecting another message from Sunghoon instead, it was a text from Minjeong.
minjeongie : tell loverboy to sing you to sleep tonight you have had a tough day :)
Jake rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling he quickly typed back
Jakey: "you're corny btw and i'm absolutely fine I'll see you tomorrow!"
When he finally reached the apartment, he was met with the smell of something delicious from the kitchen.
Jake blinked momentarily confusedwas Sunghoon cooking?
"hey Jaeyunie," Sunghoon called from the kitchen his voice light and teasing. "I figured you'd be too tired to do anything so I made dinner hope you're in the mood for pasta"
Jake's eyes widened in surprise as he dropped his bag by the door. "wait you can cook andwithout burning the kitchen?"
he walked into the kitchen to find Sunghoon stirring a pot on the stove, looking like he belonged in some fancy cooking show, minus the Prada suit which he had swapped for a casual sweatshirt and sweatpants
"there's a lot of things you don't know about me jaeyunie but I only cook sometimes like when my cute roommate looks like he's about to collapse" Sunghoon replied with a grin glancing over at Jake. "how was the rest of your day survived the villian?"
Jake let out a dramatic sigh slumping against the counter "barely that class felt like torture but now that you've made pasta I think I might live" He couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips as he watched Sunghoon move around the kitchen.
Sunghoon laughed softly, shaking his head
"I'm glad I could be your saving grace today now, sit down and relax you're about to be served the best food in the world" the taller male makes some fancy gestures
Jake didn't argue, too tired to even pretend to protest he dragged himself over to the couch and plopped down grabbing the remote and flipping through channels aimlessly
"You know, Minjeong was saying you're smitten with me or something I guess she's kinda right" Jake called out with a smirk his tone light and teasing.
Sunghoon didn't miss a beat, calling back, "is that so maybe I am you're pretty hard to resist Jaeyunie"
Jake's heart did a little flip at the casual admission but he tried to brush it off with a laugh "yeah, well you're not too bad yourself, Sunghoonie"
a comfortable silence fell between them as Sunghoon finished up in the kitchen, plating the pasta and bringing it over to the couch he handed Jake a plate with style as if presenting some gourmet meal.
"Ta-da! Chef Sunghoon's special pasta you'll love it I'm sure!"
Jake took the plate with an exaggerated sniff, eyes closing in appreciation
"wow, this smells amazing you really can cook"
Sunghoon sat down beside him, a smile playing on his lips "anything for you now, eat up before it gets cold"
As they dug into their food, Jake couldn't help but glance over at Sunghoon every now and then catching the soft smile that hadn't left his face it was the kind of smile that made Jake feel warm and fuzzy inside, even though he'd never admit it out loud
