Chapter 15

Avni and Neil stood outside Mithali's cabin, both feeling the weight of the conversation they were about to have. Avni took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"May I come in?" Avni asked, her voice laced with nervousness.

"Hey, Avni, come on in!" Mithali responded warmly, looking up from her desk with a smile.

Neil followed Avni into the room, and Mithali's face brightened at the sight of both of them. "Oh, my two favorite members! What brings you both here today?"

"Mithali..." Avni started, her voice wavering as she tried to find the right words.

Mithali immediately sensed that something was wrong. Her tone softened as she stood up and walked over to Avni. "Avni, did something happen? You know you can share anything with me, right?"

Avni hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest. She looked at Neil, who gave her an encouraging nod. Finally, Avni gathered the courage to speak. She recounted everything—from the CA auditions day when Sanjay first began making her uncomfortable to the terrifying assault in the library earlier that day. As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, and by the time she finished, she could no longer hold them back. She broke down, her voice choked with emotion.

Mithali's expression shifted from concern to shock and then to anger as she listened. She immediately pulled Avni into a comforting hug. "I'm so sorry, Avni. I can't believe you've had to go through all of this. But you did the right thing by coming to me. We're going to file a formal complaint against him and make sure he pays for what he's done."

Avni shook her head, pulling away slightly to look at Mithali with pleading eyes. "No, Mithali. I don't want to make a scene. I just... I want you to handle this quietly. If Vidhyut finds out, he'll kill Sanjay. I don't want anyone, especially Vidhyut, to know. Please, Mithali."

Mithali frowned, clearly unhappy with the idea of letting Sanjay off without public consequences. "But, Avni... you deserve justice. He shouldn't get away with this."

"I know," Avni whispered, her voice trembling. "But I also don't want to cause a bigger mess. Please, Mithali, just handle it quietly. Make sure he doesn't do this to anyone else."

There was a moment of silence as Mithali processed Avni's request. She let out a heavy sigh, clearly conflicted, but eventually nodded. "Alright, Avni. I don't like it, but I'll respect your wishes. I'll handle it discreetly, and no one else will know. But I promise you, he won't get away with this."

Avni wiped her tears and gave Mithali a small, grateful smile. "Thank you, Mithali. That's all I want."

Mithali squeezed Avni's hand. "You're brave, Avni. We'll make sure Sanjay is dealt with, and you won't have to worry about him anymore."

Neil, who had been quietly supporting Avni through the entire conversation, finally spoke up. "Thank you, Mithali. We trust you to handle this."

Mithali nodded firmly. "You have my word. Now, both of you, take care of yourselves. And Avni, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to come to me."

Avni nodded, feeling a little lighter knowing that Mithali was on her side. With Neil by her side, she left Mithali's cabin, her resolve stronger than ever.

Mithali left Avni and Neil with a reassuring nod and headed straight to the principal's office. She knew this situation required immediate action, and though she had agreed to handle it quietly as Avni requested, she wasn't about to let Sanjay off the hook so easily.
