"Thank you guys so much," Channel says, putting the items in her bag. "Why did I never think of this?"
After paying the cashier, we all walk out of the store, arm in arm.
"Anytime he comes to you, just zap the daylight out of him." Lucy encourage and I nod, all of us entering Channel's car. "Make him bleed."
Channel tuck her hair behind her ear, blue eyes on us. "I will, I don't know why I never thought of that before."
I wave her off, putting on my seatbelt I. the passenger seat. "Nah, it's okay. Well since you now you have it so use it."
Lucy pops up from the backseat, looking between us. "And if you need to just leave for a while, my house is available. My parents wouldn't mind, and I think you're cool with Ethan which also isn't an issue."
Ethan.
He ignored me at school today, yes I started avoiding him but it's still weird. We've gotten too used to teasing each other every minute we have, that it's already so awkward.
"—don't have to drop my off. I can go alone." Lucy suggests, tapping away on her phone. "just drop me off at the bus stop."
Channel rolls her eyes before starting the car. "I'm your designated driver today."
Lucy tilts her head, tucks away her phone and relaxed on the chair.
"As much as I hate the man who gifted me this car, this car is pretty cool." Channel mutters, tapping the steering wheel.
"Yeah, it's so pretty." I groan in comfort, sinking deeper into the plush seat.
We made small talk for a while, talking about school, jobs, parties but I didn't miss the way all of us avoided bringing up any boy talk.
"Thank you." I say, unbuckling my seatbelt and putting my bag on one shoulder. "See you guys tomorrow."
I step out of the car, giving them a small wave before hiking my backpack higher and walking into the building.
We spent the whole day after school going from one ice cream shop to another, just laughing away our problems.
I wait patiently for the elevator to open before I step out, straight of my apartment door.
"I'm home," I announce, shutting the door behind me and turning the lock. "Mom?"
She pops her head from the kitchen, throwing a small towel over her shoulder before stepping out when she sees me.
"Where are you coming from?" she frowns, looking at the clock. "It's so late."
"I was out with the girls." I reply, flopping down on the couch while she shakes her head, going back into the kitchen.
"You have friends?" Denis - my brother - squeaks from where he was doing his homework.
Offended, I lean forward with a brow raise. "I'm not so lonely anymore you know. It's better than the last time."
