Siya's POV

The days following our phone call passed in a blur of meetings and family gatherings. I couldn't help but replay Abhimanyu's words in my mind. The thought of an arranged marriage with him stirred a mix of excitement and anxiety within me. Abhimanyu had always been composed and reserved, qualities I admired but also found a bit intimidating.

One evening, after a long day at work, I found myself sitting in the garden with Aditi, sharing my thoughts.

"Aditi, do you think Abhimanyu and I could make this work? I mean, he's so different from anyone I've ever known," I confided, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

Aditi smiled reassuringly. "Siya, you two balance each other out. His calmness complements your warmth. And remember, relationships are about growth and understanding."

"I know, but what if I overthink everything? What if I can't connect with him on a deeper level?" I asked, my thoughts spiraling.

Aditi placed a hand on mine. "Take it one step at a time. You're both intelligent and caring individuals. Give it a chance."

Her words offered some comfort, but my mind continued to churn with doubts. That night, as I lay in bed, I decided to reach out to Abhimanyu and suggest spending more time together. Maybe getting to know each other better would help ease my worries.

The next morning, I sent him a text:

Hi Abhimanyu, would you like to have dinner together sometime this week? I think it would be good for us to spend more time together and understand each other better. - Siya.

Within minutes, my phone buzzed with his reply:

I think that's a great idea, Siya. How about tomorrow evening? I'll pick you up at 7. - Abhimanyu.

A sense of relief washed over me. At least we were on the same page about this.

Abhimanyu's POV

The idea of spending more time with Siya was both intriguing and daunting. My past had left me wary of opening up, but there was something about Siya's warmth that made me want to try. The trauma I carried from my childhood still haunted me, making it difficult to trust and connect deeply with others.

The next evening, I arrived at the Suryavanshi mansion right on time. As Siya walked towards the car, her presence seemed to light up the surroundings. She wore a simple yet elegant dress, and her smile was genuine, though I could sense a hint of nervousness.

"Good evening, Siya," I greeted her, opening the car door.

"Good evening, Abhimanyu. Thank you for picking me up," she replied, her voice soft but steady.

As we drove to the restaurant, the conversation flowed easily. We talked about work, family, and our shared memories from childhood. It was comforting to realize that despite our differences, we had common ground.

Once we were seated at a cozy corner table, Siya looked at me, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Abhimanyu, can I ask you something personal?"

I nodded, bracing myself. "Of course."

"Why do you always seem so guarded? I mean, I understand that you're a private person, but sometimes it feels like there's a wall around you," she said gently.

Her question struck a nerve, but I appreciated her honesty. Taking a deep breath, I decided to share a part of my past with her. "Siya, when I was young, I experienced something that left a lasting impact on me. My mother passed away when I was just a child, and it was a traumatic event. Since then, I've found it difficult to let people in. Trusting others doesn't come easily to me."

Siya's eyes softened with understanding. "I'm so sorry, Abhimanyu. That must have been incredibly hard for you."

"It was," I admitted. "But I'm trying to move past it. Being around you, seeing how open and warm you are, it makes me want to try harder."

She reached across the table and squeezed my hand. "Thank you for sharing that with me. I want you to know that I'm here for you, and we can take this one step at a time."

Her words brought a sense of comfort I hadn't felt in years. As the evening continued, I found myself opening up more, sharing stories and thoughts I had long kept buried.

By the time I dropped Siya back at her home, I felt a shift in our dynamic. There was a newfound understanding between us, a connection that went beyond just business.

"Goodnight, Siya. I enjoyed tonight," I said as she stepped out of the car.

"Goodnight, Abhimanyu. Me too. Let's do this again soon," she replied with a smile.

As I drove back to the palace, I couldn't help but feel hopeful about the future. Maybe, just maybe, this arranged marriage could be the start of something beautiful.

Siya's POV

The following days were a whirlwind of activities, but the dinner with Abhimanyu stayed on my mind. His openness about his past has given me a deeper understanding of him. I realized that beneath his cold exterior was a man who had faced immense pain and was now trying to heal.

One evening, as I was helping Tej with his homework, my phone buzzed with a message from Abhimanyu:

Would you like to go for a walk tomorrow morning? I think it would be nice to talk more in a relaxed setting. - Abhimanyu.

I smiled at the thought. A walk sounded perfect.

I'd love to. See you tomorrow at 7? - Siya.

The next morning, we met at a nearby park. The early morning air was crisp and refreshing. We walked in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the serene surroundings.

"Siya, I've been thinking a lot about our conversation," Abhimanyu began, breaking the silence. "I appreciate your patience and understanding."

"I believe that building trust takes time," I replied. "And I'm willing to invest that time because I see the potential in us."

He nodded, looking thoughtful. "I feel the same way. I want to move forward, not just with the business but with our relationship as well."

As we continued walking, we talked about our hopes and dreams, our fears and insecurities. Each step we took seemed to bring us closer, not just physically but emotionally.

"Siya, I know I have my flaws and my past, but I'm willing to work on them. For us," Abhimanyu said, his voice sincere.

"And I know I tend to overthink things, but I'm willing to work on that too," I replied, smiling at him.

We paused by a small pond, watching the ducks swim peacefully. At that moment, I felt a sense of calm and certainty. Despite our differences, despite the challenges, I believed that Abhimanyu and I could build something meaningful together.

As the sun began to rise, casting a golden glow over the park, I looked at Abhimanyu and felt a deep sense of hope. Our journey was just beginning, and with each step, I knew we were moving towards a future filled with possibilities.

"One step at a time," I whispered, more to myself than to Abhimanyu.

"One step at a time," he echoed, smiling at me.

And with that, we continued our walk, ready to face whatever came our way, together.
