For a while now, Sophie had been busy. Busy with the preparations for her debut novel, busy with the mounds of assignments the professors poured on her shoulders, busy with her tutoring sessions, and most of all, buried in plans with her childhood friends and family.

That was, most of her childhood friends and family. She was avoiding one quite tenaciously. Specifically, the one who attended a job in one of the most pretentious cafes in town.

Which was funny, because Sophie probably missed that mischievous blonde the most out of her friend group. Something was different about him. Something about him that didn't make him like the others.

There was something about the way he looked at her face. Something about the way he threaded his fingers into the strands of her hair. Something about the way he would throw laughter around carelessly with her. Something about the way he would hold her hand. Something about the way he would come close to her face, close enough to maybe, just maybe, kis—

Sophie caught sight of the cafe from a distance, cutting her thoughts to admire the petite town the cafe proudly stood in.

It had taken six long months of nothing but academic focus before Sophie had even thought of returning to the cafe. When she finally reached it, the worn-out blue roof made her melt with nostalgia

The dainty exterior was no match to the majesty the cafe held within its walls: hundreds, maybe even thousands, of untouched books. however, today, that wasn't Sophie's main interest. Instead, it was the gaping blonde that stood by the counters, cheeks dusted pink because of who knows what.

It was relatively empty, thank the heavens for that, so Sophie could comfortably hold up the pretty boy if she wanted to.

"You're here," Keefe muttered, hand frozen over the cash register.

"That's right," she confirmed.

"Why?"

"I couldn't get you out of my head." It was true. In the future, god forbid anyone ask her what her inspiration for her romance debut novel was. She wouldn't be able to get anyone except the blonde boy out of her mind.

Keefe's face heated up, but maybe that was because of the excess of hot air the heaters blew out. Sophie had been adamant about holding Keefe's gaze for the entirety of her visit, but he had never returned her gaze. That was; until he did.

And it was like Sophie's entire world came crumbling down to make room for the beauty in his eyes.

Careful not to stutter, she snapped away, glancing up at the menu instead. "I'm sorry, I won't take any more of your time." Sophie abruptly realized that she remembered nothing of this menu. "Umm, I'll get the—"

"I'll input your regular order?"

Sophie blinked for a second, "My regular order? From six months ago? Why would you remember my order from six months ago?"

Keefe flashed one of his signature smirks at her, but it was somewhat timid. "The same reason why you couldn't get me out of your head for the past months, Foster."

Sophie picked up the customer's order, reading out loud, "One cafe mocha, extra whipped cream."

As quick as the flash, she turned to Keefe, who was wondering why someone named a drink after his childhood dog. He had told his mother that Mocha was going to be famous in the future.
