I'm sorry I don't make you laugh anymore,
or enhance your smile like before.
I'm sorry I let you go,
even though,
I wanted you forever.
I'm sorry I'm not kind,
I'm sorry that you couldn't find,
perfection in me.
I'm sorry I turned away,
and didn't savour the day,
I was your favourite.
I'm sorry I didn't hold you,
as tight as I would've,
if I could've realised,
nothing good lasts forever.
I'm sorry I held you back,
made you lack,
in happiness.
I'm sorry I forced you to like me,
and not forced you to hate me.
I'm sorry I made myself think we ever had a chance,
or that we would ever dance,
be lost in a trance,
or prance through the meadows again.
No matter how much I long for you,
I know you are happy.
And though it hurts,
I hope the stains my love created,
never deflated,
your life.
And as I watch you walk away,
I long for the day,
you turn around,
run back round,
into my arms.
But, I know,
that you are now happier,
and though that pains me to hear,
that's worth more than my fear,
Of losing you...
