Pon stepped into the house, his mind still reeling from the conversation with Bank at the café. He felt emotionally drained and unsure of what to do next. As he walked through the door, he was greeted by Pavel, who looked unusually serious.
"Pon, you need to go to Sailub's room. Now," Pavel said urgently.
Pon frowned, a sense of unease settling in his stomach. "What's wrong? Is something the matter with Sailub?"
Pavel didn't respond directly but instead gently urged Pon toward the stairs. "Just go. He needs you."
Without another word, Pon hurried to Sailub's room, his heart pounding with worry. As he approached the door, he could hear the sound of muffled sobs from inside. The knot in his stomach tightened as he slowly opened the door and stepped inside.
The sight that greeted him broke his heart.
Sailub, the strong and composed alpha he had come to rely on, was slumped on the floor by the bed, a bottle of whiskey clutched in his hand. His usually sharp eyes were red and swollen from crying, and his clothes were disheveled. Sailub looked up as Pon entered, and the raw pain in his gaze was almost too much to bear.
"Pon..." Sailub's voice cracked, barely above a whisper as he tried to stand but stumbled. Pon rushed forward, catching him before he fell. "Please... Please don't leave me. Don't choose him. I—I can be a father to Aon... Please, give me a chance."
Tears streamed down Sailub's face as he clung to Pon, his body trembling with the intensity of his emotions. Pon could barely keep himself together as he wrapped his arms around the alpha, holding him tightly as if trying to shield him from whatever pain he was feeling.
"Sailub, please... I'm here. I'm not going anywhere," Pon whispered, his own tears falling as he tried to soothe the man who had been his rock for so long. Seeing Sailub like this, so broken and vulnerable, made his heart ache in a way he hadn't expected.
"I love Aon like he's my own," Sailub continued, his voice thick with desperation. "I love you, Pon. I can't bear the thought of losing you both. Please... Just choose me. I'll do anything to prove that I can be the one for you."
Pon's heart shattered at Sailub's words. He hadn't realized just how deeply the alpha's feelings ran, and now that he did, he felt overwhelmed by the weight of it all. Sailub had been nothing but kind and supportive, always putting Pon and Aon first. The thought that he might lose Sailub over a misunderstanding with Bank made him feel like he was suffocating.
"Sailub, I..." Pon's voice caught in his throat as he gently wiped the tears from Sailub's cheeks. "I never wanted to hurt you. I never wanted you to think that you weren't important to us. Aon... Aon loves you so much. And I... I care about you more than I can put into words."
Sailub looked up at Pon with a mixture of hope and fear in his eyes, his grip on Pon tightening as if he was afraid to let go. "Then stay with me, Pon. Let's be a family, the three of us. Don't let Bank take you away from me."
Pon's tears flowed freely now as he leaned down to press his forehead against Sailub's. "You're not going to lose us, Sailub. I promise. We'll figure this out together."
Sailub's sobs gradually subsided as Pon continued to hold him, whispering words of reassurance. The two of them stayed like that for what felt like an eternity, wrapped up in each other's arms as the intensity of the moment washed over them.
As Sailub's breathing began to even out, Pon gently guided him to the bed, helping him lie down. Sailub's hand never left Pon's, his grip firm even in his vulnerable state. Pon settled down beside him, continuing to soothe the alpha until he finally fell asleep, exhausted from the emotional turmoil.
