The hospital room had finally settled into a quiet calm, a stark contrast to the chaos and fear that had dominated the past few hours. Pon lay nestled in the bed, his hand protectively cradling his belly, still in disbelief over the news he had just received. Sailub sat beside him, his fingers laced with Pon's, his gaze soft yet filled with concern.
They had just learned the unexpected, yet joyous news: Pon was pregnant.
Despite the tension that lingered in the air from the earlier events, there was a newfound lightness between them. The revelation had brought a mixture of emotions—joy, relief, and a lingering thread of worry. The joy of knowing they were expecting another child filled both their hearts, yet the fear of what could have happened gnawed at the edges of their happiness.
Sailub squeezed Pon's hand gently, his other hand brushing a strand of hair from Pon's forehead. "I'm so happy, Pon," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "We're going to have another baby."
Pon smiled weakly, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "I'm happy too, Sailub. I just... I can't believe it. Another pup... Aon will be a big brother."
As if on cue, Aon, who was nestled between them on the bed, let out a soft babble. Sailub chuckled softly, leaning down to kiss the top of Aon's head. "That's right, little one. You're going to be a big brother soon," he said in a gentle tone, his heart swelling with love as Aon cooed in response, seeming to understand the significance of the moment.
Aon looked up at his parents with wide, curious eyes, his little hands reaching out to touch Pon's belly. "Big brother?" he repeated, his voice full of innocence.
Pon's heart melted at his pup's words, and he nodded, guiding Aon's tiny hand to rest on his abdomen. "Yes, Aon, you're going to be a big brother. There's a little baby growing in Papa's tummy."
Aon's eyes widened in amazement, his face lighting up with excitement. "Baby!" he exclaimed, clapping his hands together in delight.
Sailub and Pon exchanged a tender glance, their hearts overflowing with love for their son. It was a moment of pure happiness, one they would cherish forever. But even as they reveled in the joy of the news, there was a weight that hung over them—a reminder of the dangers that still lurked.
The sound of the door opening drew their attention, and they looked up to see the doctor entering the room. Dr. Somchai, the same doctor who had been caring for Pon since they arrived, offered them a reassuring smile as he approached the bed.
"I have some important information to discuss with you both," Dr. Somchai began, his tone gentle but serious. He glanced at Pon, his expression softening. "First of all, congratulations on the pregnancy. I know this news must be both joyful and surprising for you."
Pon and Sailub nodded, their hands still clasped together. The doctor's words were comforting, but they could sense there was more to be discussed.
"However," Dr. Somchai continued, his tone taking on a more serious note, "given the stress Pon has been under in the past couple of weeks, it's important that we take extra precautions moving forward. The spotting that occurred earlier is a sign that Pon's body is under strain. Stress, excessive physical activity, and carrying heavy objects could exacerbate the situation and pose risks to both Pon and the baby."
Sailub felt his heart clench at the doctor's words, his protective instincts kicking into overdrive. "What do we need to do, doctor?" he asked, his voice firm but laced with concern.
Dr. Somchai gave a small nod, appreciating Sailub's attentiveness. "For starters, Pon needs to avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous activities. Rest is crucial—both physically and mentally. Reducing stress is also very important. I understand that recent events have been difficult, but it's vital for Pon's health that we minimize any further stressors."
Sailub nodded resolutely. "I'll make sure of it, doctor. I won't let anything else happen to Pon or our baby."
Pon looked up at Sailub, his eyes filled with gratitude. He could see the determination in Sailub's eyes, the fierce protectiveness that had always been a part of his alpha. It made him feel safe, knowing that Sailub was by his side, ready to do whatever it took to keep their family safe.
"There's one more thing," Dr. Somchai added, his tone softening. "I'm going to refer you to an OB/GYN who specializes in omega care. Dr. Belle is one of the best in the field, and I believe she'll be the perfect doctor to oversee Pon's pregnancy. She has extensive experience with cases like this and will provide the best care possible."
Sailub felt a sense of relief wash over him at the mention of Dr. Belle. Knowing that Pon and their unborn child would be in the hands of a top specialist eased some of the worry that had been gnawing at him. "Thank you, doctor. We'll follow all of your instructions, and I'll make sure Pon sees Dr. Belle as soon as possible."
Dr. Somchai nodded, satisfied with Sailub's response. "I'm confident that with the right care and support, Pon and the baby will be just fine. But please, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns or if anything changes."
Pon gave the doctor a small smile, feeling reassured by his words. "Thank you, Dr. Somchai. I'll make sure to take it easy."
After a few more words of advice, Dr. Somchai took his leave, leaving the little family to absorb the news. As the door closed behind him, a heavy silence fell over the room, broken only by the soft babbling of Aon as he played with his parents.
Sailub turned his attention back to Pon, his expression softening as he looked at his mate. "We're going to get through this, Pon," he said quietly, his hand moving to rest over Pon's on his belly. "We're going to do everything the doctor said, and we're going to make sure you and our baby are safe."
Pon nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. He was so happy about the pregnancy, but the lingering fear from the day's events made it hard to fully relax. "I'm just... I'm worried, Sailub," he admitted, his voice trembling slightly. "What if something happens? What if—"
Sailub gently placed a finger over Pon's lips, silencing his fears. "Nothing is going to happen, Pon. I'm going to be here every step of the way. We'll take care of you, make sure you have everything you need. You're not alone in this, love."
Pon's eyes filled with tears, not of sadness this time, but of overwhelming love and gratitude. He leaned into Sailub's embrace, resting his head against his alpha's chest. "Thank you, Sailub," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Sailub kissed the top of Pon's head, his heart swelling with love for his omega. "You'll never have to find out, Pon. I'm here, always."
Aon, who had been listening intently to his parents, suddenly piped up, his voice full of excitement. "I'm going to be a big brother!"
The innocent, joyful declaration from their pup broke the tension in the room, bringing smiles to both Pon and Sailub's faces. Sailub chuckled softly, ruffling Aon's hair. "That's right, Aon. You're going to be the best big brother ever."
Aon grinned proudly, puffing out his little chest. "I'll take care of the baby, just like Papa and Dada takes care of me!"
Pon couldn't help but laugh softly at Aon's enthusiasm. Despite all the fear and uncertainty, there was a deep sense of happiness that came with the knowledge that their family was growing. He could see the future they were building together, filled with love, laughter, and the joy of watching their children grow up.
As they sat together, the three of them huddled close, Sailub couldn't help but feel a fierce sense of determination. He would do whatever it took to protect Pon, Aon, and their unborn child. The events of the day had shaken him, but they had also solidified his resolve.
He knew that the road ahead might not be easy. There would be challenges, fears, and obstacles to overcome. But with Pon by his side, and their little family growing, he felt ready to face whatever came their way.
Because no matter what, they would face it together.
