As  I woke up on Monday, I forgot how cold it was. I'd slept in a tank top and gym shorts. It was hot lat night after my hot shower, but now I'm freezing. I quickly get dressed not bothering to look at what I put on. As I get ready for school, I feel excited to see Lucas again. I didn't see him at all yesterday, and it feels like it's been forever. I throw on my black converse and run to Riley's. It's even colder outside, and I plug in my ear buds to take my mind off the cold December air.

When I reach Riley's house, I quickly hit the buzzer. "Mmmmaya." I say, my voice shivering with the cold. "Come on up. Do you want mellows in the coco?" Riley asks. "Yyyyyes." I hurry up the stairs to her apartment and walk in, taking in the warmth. Topanga hands me a mug of the rich chocolate. It instantly warms my insides as I take a sip. "You're early." Topanga acknowledges. "Heater went out last night and I went to bed in a tank top and shorts." Auggie and his girlfriend Ava laugh. "Why would you do that stupid?" Ava asks. She's always been a bit of a spit fire. "Ava that's not very nice!" Riley scolds. "Sorry Maya." I just laugh. "It's fine Riles. Hey Topanga what's for breakfast?" "Eggs and ham come and get it." She says, dishing up the food.

It smells delicious and I hungrily eat it quickly. Corey comes stomping down the stairs into the kitchen. "Ya know what I don't like?" He asks Riley and I. "What? Did they cancel school?" I ask, giving a fake pouty face. He nods. "Yeah! I had this wonderful lesson for today!! I was going to talk all about Henry Ford and how he created the assembly line!" He says, giving a real pout. "Aww I'm sorry honey." I rub his back. "Ya feel better now?" "Yes actually. I do, thank you." "No, thank you!" I say. Auggie looks up from his eggs, his face with food. "No school today!" He says rather than asks. "Nope. You get to stay here with me!" Exclaims Topanga, tickling him.

I smile and turn to Riley. "So goofball what should we do today?" She thinks for a moment, then her eyes light up. "We should definitely--" Her phone goes off. "Oops. One second." She says. She talks for a minute then says, "okay it's on speaker." I curiously look at her. "Who is it?" I mouth. "Farkle." She mouths back. I nod. "Hello ladies!" I her. "Farkle!" Riley and I say at the same time. We laugh. "So since there's no school today, Lucas and I want to take you two on a scavenger hunt. I set up one for Lucas and Maya, and Lucas set up one for Riley and me." "Ooh a scavenger hunt! Sounds fun!" Says Riley. "I know! So you two meet us at the subway in ten minutes and we'll go from there!" He says, then hangs up. "Well what are we waiting for?" I ask. "Let's go!" She says. We hurry out the door and run to the station, with two minutes to spare.

As we run in, I see Lucas's face. He's smiling, though I don't know why? I didn't put much effort into my appearance today. Just a white oversized sweater that says Flawless, black leggings, and my black and silver combat boots. My hair is just it's usual wave. Nothing special, yet he looks at me like I'm a model. "What?" I ask. "You look beautiful beautiful as always. The snow in your hair lights your eyes up." He says. I laugh. "So where do we go first? We need to hurry if involves the subway." He looks for a minute at a piece of paper. "It says, go to the place where you first met, and find one thing you'll never forget." I think for a second. "The first place we met. That's the subway." I say. We climb on. "I don't see anything here..." I say looking around. "Hmm. Maybe we need to go to the exact place." He says. I nod. "Okay. Do you remember the seat you were on?" I ask. He looks at me like I just asked him if the grass was green. "Of course I do! I remember every moment I spent with you." He says. It's really sweet. Most guys wouldn't remember things like that.

We walk over to the spot where we met and he sits down, pulling me onto his lap. His gesture makes me laugh and I give him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Okay, now something we'll never forget." I look around. On the opposite wall, I see the masks we wore to the dance, when we had our first kiss. Standing up, I grab the masks and walk back to Lucas, sitting on him again. This time he laughs. There's a piece of paper tied to the masks and I quickly open it. "Excellent! Now go to the place where you can get ice even if the weather is nice. Find the present wrapped in gold, and put it on your lady before she gets cold." I read. This one doesn't make any sense. "What does this even mean?" I ask, handing him the note. He reads it again. "I'm not sure...does it mean an ice cream shop?" I shake my head. "No.  No one eats ice cream in the winter. And the whole present thing wouldn't make sense for an ice cream." He nods. "True.....what about an ice skating rink?" He asks. "Yes! Which one though?" "Probably the one on 66 avenue. That's our stop right now actually. Shall we get off?" "We shall." I hold his hand and put my head on his shoulder. I could stay like this forever.
