"Hi pretty girl" i hear as I answer my FaceTime call from Kate as I'm packing up my home. "Hi how are you how's the nose" I ask genuinely concerned after seeing the game. "I'm fine it wasn't that bad" she shrugs.
"Kate your nose was bleeding babe" "it really wasn't that bad I just wasn't expecting to get hurt with Taylor swift playing in the background" "that's like the coolest thing ever" i laugh.
"Congrats by the way one more win left" "thank you hopefully all goes well... how's the packing going?" She asks. "It's going okay I feel like I just have so many things" "i don't get why you're packing so early."
"Well Leah got the chance to open a boutique so her move to LA was so sudden like she has people coming to pack up her stuff tomorrow morning type sudden" I say putting my books into a box. "What that's crazy she's not even going to go say bye or get her stuff?" Kate chuckles.
"Well I mean it's understandable when there's a business opportunity like that you gotta do what you gotta do" "yeah I guess but I feel bad that you're on your own though" "it's fine I'll be done by sometime before the end of the week" "so you would be leaving to Texas when?" I say.
"As soon as possible I've been looking at flights but I have to finish packing up and find a mover for my clothes and my car so ughh this wasn't apart of the plan" I groan. "Yeah but everything happens for a reason" she speaks softly.
"You said you'd be here" "when we thought you were moving in june" she says "I'm kidding what are you doing?" I ask "talking to you while watching your video on YouTube" she says turning the camera to show her laptop.
"Each video you stream is going to my movers" I joke "actually?" "Kate no I'm kidding" I giggle. "Did you eat already?" I ask "yeah I ate a chipotle bowl and some chips and cheese with a tea" "chipotle sounds good" "you ate already?" She asks "no I literally woke up had a coffee and French toast with some berries and then got right to packing."
"Bella just hire someone to move for you that way you could leave to Texas no worries" Kate says "no I got this" "I'll pay for the movers" "i don't need them" "bella think of how less stressed you'd be and you'd be home earlier, you could just cancel your lease already and not have to worry about it later" she says listing reasons as to why I should hire movers.
Weighing the pros and cons of Kate's approach ultimately made me decide to hire the movers. "Fine" I say walking to my room with my phone in hand. "My room is empty though" I say flipping the camera to the room that only had a vanity, empty drawers some clothes and my bed.
"Wowww and I didn't even get to visit the place" "right you didn't but you do get to see my room at my new home" I say laying down. "Is this the official invite to your home" she smirks making me roll my eyes.
"Of course I mean you do plan on visiting me sometime don't you?" I ask "once I'm done at Iowa I could" "mm you don't sound too amused to come visit me" "you know damn I'll be on the first flight to you as soon as I have time" she says making me grin.
"Yeah so as soon as you're done with winning that game I need you to run and get to the airport" "No celebrations?" "Why would you go party without me?" I joke "you're right that'd be nonsense huh" "exactly" I giggle.
