"YOU'RE MAKING things worse for me, Max Fewtrell" I groan, rolling off my bed and sitting on the ground, my head held up by my knees. It's been a month since I saw Delilah, and every day passing sucks even more than the day before.
"I'm just trying to lighten the whole situation, we both miss her and you know it" Max says, sitting down next to me on the floor. He sighs, staring at the wall.
"She texted me a few days ago telling me that she's coming along on the trip and we'll talk. I'm terrified" I complain, biting down on my lips as I glance at Max.
"Mate, it's a good thing! you guys can finally sort this whole shitting situation out, talk about how you feel, but you can't be mad at her for cutting you off. You texted her it was 'just for show' a couple of weeks ago. Obviously she feels like shit" He says, his arm finding it's way around my shoulder.
I don't think I've ever felt as terrible as I do now. I fell for her, hard, and now she's ghosting all of us. It's part of the social anxiety and I know it, and it makes me feel so fucking bad for her, and it frustrates me I can't do anything about it.
She's in New York, i'm stuck in London at Max's apartment. We streamed twice the last week, played some games. We went shopping, and I bought the most perfect 'promise ring' for Delilah, which I can give to her when we've sorted this out, but still. None of these activities take my mind off of her.
It hurts to breathe without her, it hurts to even look around. When I was with her the wold just seemed like such a beautiful place, even though we were never actually together. She made me look at things from a different perspective, which I can't when i'm without her.
"Things will be fine Lando, trust me." Max's voice snaps me out of my daydreaming, and I look at him before slowly nodding my head.
"You think so?" I ask, unsure wether he's joking or not.
"I'm sure. Whatever you guys had together, like I said before, it was special. Even though it wasn't real, your eyes told something so different. Talk to her in Paris, take your time and if you're meant to be everything will fix itself eventually"
I smile, pushing down tears threatening to form in my eyes. "Thank's Max" I tell him, smiling just the slightest bit. This is the exact reason why we're best friends.
"Now no more sulking, let's do something fun" He stands up and hoists me to my feet. My phone chimes and I pick it up, praying it's a text from Delilah. It isn't, but she did post something on Instagram and tagged me in it. I press the notification and wait for it to load.
