Trevor wanted to help.It was the one thing that he made clear with the Winchesters. If there really was something out there that could be a threat to himself and his family, then he wanted to help in any he could.
And that's what led him to Summerville's local and only library.
Sam had explained that due to the amount of books one is able to check out, he couldn't get a lot of lore. So, Trevor offered to head over to the library to get some more lore for the boys to look at.
That and, seeing Ash would be nice.
He inhaled sharply as the surprisingly cool wind blew into his face, making him thankful that he brought that old black and white flannel with him.
The bell jingled as the tall boy opened the door and made his way inside.
"Hello??" He called out as he looked around the library. While it seemed that it was empty, the open sign from outside suggested otherwise.
"Who's there??" A voice called out and Trevor smiled as he recognized it as Ash's voice.
"It's me, Ash!" He the frowned a bit as he looked around. "Where are you?" He asked.
"Trevor!! I, uh... I need help." Ash meekly called out.
"Shit," Trevor muttered before he called out again. "Are you okay??"
"I'm fine, just... stuck." The other boy said, before he sighed. "Fifth isle on the right, can you please just come over??"
Now concerned, Trevor pretty much ran to where Ash told him he was in. Upon arriving at the isle, he was greeted to the sight of the sweet boy he met the previous day clinging onto the roll-away ladder as he stood on the top of the ladder.
"Ash?? What's wrong??" He asked.
"I, um, I told my parents that I could handle put the books back. But I-I didn't think it'd be this high." The brunette boy said, keeping his eyes shut and his hands were clinging the wooden ladder tightly.
"High, what do you-" Trevor cut himself off as he quickly realized what he meant. "Wait, do you have a fear of heights??"
Ash whimpered lightly and nodded.
"Ash, if you have a fear of heights, then why did you agree to this?"
"I didn't think it was that bad!!" Ash yelped. "Can you please just help me down!!"
"Okay, okay!" Trevor said as he walked over to the ladder and grabbed it. "Okay, I grabbed the ladder, you can come down now."
"Trev-"
"It's okay, Ash." The ravenette boy soothed. "I'm not gonna let it move. Just take your time coming down, okay?"
"O-okay." Ash huffed as he opened his eyes and slowly pushed his leg down for the step beneath him.
"That's it." The tall boy encouraged. "There you go."
The ladder shook lightly and Ashton gasped as clinged onto the ladder.
"Woah, it okay!" Trevor assured. "I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, Ash. You're okay."
The shorter boy sighed shakily as he continued his descent to the floor.
"God, this is so embarrassing!" He exclaimed. "I can handle stairs, but not this stupid ladder??"
"Hey, it's okay, man." The taller boy told him. "We all have our fears and- wait, Ash, don't-"
Too late.
Ashton misstepped and gasped as he fell.
Going on instincts alone, Trevor extended his arms and caught the other boy. However, Ash's weight and suddenness of the fall caused the taller boy to stumble and fall back first to the floor with a grunt.
