Trevor was just about to crawl into the warmth of his bed and call it a day when his phone buzzed.

Curious, he picked it up and saw that it was a text from Lucky out of all people.

Lucky: Hey, quick question. Have you heard from Ash since you guys left the station??

Trevor's eyebrows furrowed as he felt his heart tighten as he read the text.

He hasn't heard from Ash since they left the police station. And now that he was thinking about it, he was starting to get concerned.

He replied the text.

Trevor: No. Is something wrong??

A few seconds later, he got a response.

Lucky: TBH, I don't know. I've tried reaching out to him to see how he was doing, but I haven't been able to contact him.

Well, now that was even more concerning. Trevor took a deep breath to calm down his racing heart. He should panic right now. Surely Ashton's fine right?

Trevor: I'm gonna see if I can reach him.

Lucky: If you can, let me know if he's okay.

Trevor: Got you.

Trevor went over to Ashton's contact and for a minute, he just sat there, debating on what to do first: call or text?

Eventually, he decided on calling Ash instead. It'll be more efficient anyways.

Trevor sat there, phone pressed against his ear, as he waited for his friend to answer. But... there was nothing.

The number that you are trying to reach is unavailable right now. Please leave a message after the beep.

The beep was heard, and Trevor sighed, running down a hand down his face. "Hey, Ash. It's me, Trev. I, um, I was just calling to check up on you. Lucky texted me just a few minutes ago saying that she hasn't heard from you, which leaves me a bit worried. If you can get back to me as soon as you can, that would be great. I'll, um, hope to hear from you soon. I'm worried about you, I... I don't want you hurt. Bye."

He hung up, and sighed again, his fingers tapping against his knee, a nervous tick he had developed since he was little.

Surely Ash is okay.

Right?

A sudden knock on the front door of the house abruptly brought Trevor out of his thoughts. He got off of the bed and walked out of his room to see if anyone was going to answer. He didn't see anyone downstairs, so, he figured that he'll have to do it.

"Alright, alright. I'm coming." He muttered as he strides over to the door, and opens it.

And his heart stopped.

There, standing in front of him, was Ashton Connor. He was shaking, small whimpers were coming from his mouth, his eyes were red, and his cheeks were wet from crying. But most notable of all was the small, yet very present red mark on Ash's right cheek.

"A-Ash..." Trevor could only mumble in shock.

"T-Trevor..." Ashton said his name, voice wobbly and weak.

That automatically sprung Trevor into action as he took him by the hands and gently pulled him inside the house before closing the door behind him. The ravenette then proceeded to pull the shorter boy into a tight hug.
