You started waking up on the ground, you sat up. You woke up to a dark room, some candles lit around and sigils everywhere.
The door creaked open, and he walked in, unhurried, like he owns the place..
"You're awake. Good. I was beginning to wonder if they hit you too hard."
"Why am I here?" You glared at him, your voice hoarse from disuse
"It's simple. Your organization is finished. Your boss is dead. And you... you're the only loose end. I'm offering you two choices: you can die here, or you can work with us" Gojo said unhesitatingly.
His voice is so calm, it makes me sick.
"You really think I'd ever work with you? After everything you've done?" You hissed at him, he shrugged unfazed about everything.
"It's not about what you want. It's about survival. You either work with us, or you die. There's no third option. I'm sure you'll figure it out" he smiled at you like this is something causal.
I have to work with him?
"And if I do work with you?" You questioned "we'll let you go, hooray!" You looked at him confused.
"They were going to kill you, no hesitation. But I requested them to keep you alive as long as you step in to become a teacher for awhile."
You scoffed, "a teacher? I've killed people and you think I can become a teacher overnight? Why a teacher all of a sudden?"
"It's simple. I need you to train my students. They're talented but lack the discipline and skill you have. You're the best in that field. They need someone who understands the harsh realities of the world."
You scoffed at his reply, "so, you're telling me I'm not just some bargaining chip but a tool for your new recruits? What, am I supposed to teach them to be just as ruthless as you?"
"Exactly! They need to learn from someone who's been in the trenches, someone who can shape them into effective operatives. You're the ideal candidate."
"Funny how life works out. One minute, I'm on top of the world, and the next, I'm here, forced to help you. What makes you think I'd even consider this?" You bitterly said and crossed your arms.
"You don't have much of a choice. The higher-ups won't let you go unless you fulfill your part of the deal. And believe me, this is better than the alternatives they have in mind for you" Gojo smirked down at you, your smile disappeared.
"So, I'm trapped in your little scheme, playing teacher to make sure your students become powerful as—"
"No. More powerful than me."
You rolled your eyes, "powerful than you. What a twisted little world we live in" you looked away from him.
"It's not personal. It's just business. And in this world, it's better to adapt than to fight against the inevitable. And I'm the inevitable" you looked back at him, he kept smiling at you.
