Summer Newman Abbott was sitting on the examining table waiting for her doctor to enter the room. Depending on what Dr. Chandler said, her life could be forever changed. There was a knock at the door and Dr. Chandler entered the room. "Congrats Mrs. Abbott, your're pregnant."

Summer squealed and burst into excited tears. She had wanted this for so long. Harrison had stolen her heart and she couldn't wait to give him a sibling. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"

Dr. Chandler chuckled, "Don't thank me, you and Kyle did all the hard work." The doctor then explained that Summer was 6 weeks pregnant, due in late June. The young woman listened intently before racing home to tell Kyle the good news.

On the drive home, Summer started envisioning her future life. She could just see Harrison and his little brother playing at the park, sneaking cookies from Mrs. Martinez, snuggling up to her as she read them a story. It was life she couldn't wait to get started. Both of their families would be so excited for them. A sudden worry hit her at a stop light. She wasn't worried about Nick or Jack, they would be fine, their mothers on the other hand.

Phyllis and Diane had been fighting nonstop ever since Diane returned from the dead. The two women had gotten better at hiding the tension, but Summer and Kyle knew it was still there. Expecting her first child should be a happy time in Summer's life, instead she was afraid that the grandmothers would make it about their drama. Not to mention that she was pregnant at the same time as her least favorite person, Sally Spectra. Summer shuddered with horror at the realization that their children would not only be related but would also be the same age.

She could just see her grandfather trying to force her and Sally's children together to create a fake illusion of family unity. Her child would never be forced into the presence of Sally and Adam's under her watch. Giving herself a pep talk; she wanted to smack herself for getting panicked over something that had not even happened yet, Summer pulled into her driveway to inform her husband. Kyle would be sworn to secrecy though, this news had to stay private until she was sure that their mothers wouldn't ruin it. Summer completely ignored the fact that she denied Sally and Adam this privilege when she blabbed their news to Victor.

Kyle had received a text from his wife telling him to wait for her in their bedroom. Curious he followed her directions. He knew she was going to doctor's and assumed it had to be about that. He had an idea what her news was, but didn't want to jinx it. Summer ran into the Abbott House and straight to her and Kyle's room. She burst into their room and met Kyle's eyes. One look and he knew she was pregnant.

"You're pregnant?" He nervously asked.

"I'm pregnant." Summer confirmed, tears of joy spilling out of her eyes. The couple met in the middle of the room and embraced. Kyle kissed his wife and then pulled her into another hug.

The happy couple fell into bed and celebrated what they had made. After they were done, they stayed in bed and stared into each other's eyes. "Now, this stays between us for now. Okay? I want some time to enjoy this before all hell breaks loose."

Kyle nodded in understanding. "I get it, between our mothers and Tara we're going to be dealing with a lot of ugly." He felt terrible for mentioning her when he saw the flash of hurt in Summer's eyes. He knew what Harrison's mother had said to his wife and wanted to kill her for it.

What Tara had said to her that day in Society really stung. Summer hated that Tara could get under her skin that badly; she was so mad at herself for being insecure. Well, now Tara could no longer boast that she was the mother of Kyle's child. The former Mrs. Locke was losing the only leverage she had over Summer. Summer had to resist the urge to smirk when she pictured Tara's face when the bitch heard the news. The old bitch would be devastated and Summer would come out on top where she, in her mind, should always be.

The blonde was shaken from her thoughts by Kyle's voice. "So how long do you want to keep our little secret?"

Summer pondered this thought; she honestly didn't know how long she would be able to keep this a secret. Christmas morning suddenly popped into her head; it was the perfect time. "What's a better Christmas present than a new baby?" She coyly asked.

"You really think you can keep quiet that long?" Kyle responded.

"I'm going to try and so are you."  Summer firmly stated poking her husband in the chest with her index finger. Kyle held his hands up in surrender, kissing his wife one last time before beginning round two.
