Lauren Fenmore Baldwin was starting to get excited. Her son, Scotty, was finally coming home after spending the past four years in Europe. He said that he had big news, that made her slightly nervous. Big news could be anything, Michael tried to reassure her. He too was excited to see his stepson. They both needed a positive boost, especially after this year.

"Lauren sweetie, calm down. You're going to wear a hole in the floor." Michael teased. Lauren stopped mid pace and gave her husband a soft glare. They were waiting for Scotty's flight to arrive and Lauren was growing more and more impatient.

"I haven't seen my son in four very long years. I'm excited, okay?" She resumed her pacing. Michael got up and grabbed her. She relaxed into her husband's embrace. "I know. I know. It's just this family needs something good to happen."

The deaths of Chloe and Kevin weighed heavily over the family. Lauren wanted her sons close to her forever. So when Scotty called and said he wanted to come home, Lauren practically jumped for joy. Michael was excited too. He would've loved it if Fenmore was also returning, but his son had his own life and that life wasn't in Genoa City.

"Mom! Michael!" The Baldwins both turned their heads to see Scotty on the down escalator with a smile that filled his whole face. Lauren was soon sporting a matching one and she raced over to greet her son. Michael walked over with his own slight grin and welcomed his stepson home.

"I never want to go this long without seeing you. Never, do you understand?" Lauren jokingly scolded her son.

"Listen to her Scotty, you know she means it." Michael teased. The man in question rolled his eyes, taking the jabs.

"So what's this big news?" Lauren asked. "Don't keep us in suspense."

Scotty took a deep breath, "Mom, Michael while I was in London I met someone. She's absolutely wonderful and I've asked her to marry me. And she said yes!"

Lauren and Michael stood frozen with stunned expressions. They weren't expecting that. Nothing close to that. Of course, Lauren wanted her son to get married, but she didn't even know he was dating.

Michael recovered first, "That's great Scotty. We're so happy for you." He turned to look at his wife, still frozen and nudged her. "Aren't we honey?"

Lauren blinked, turning red with embarrassment upon noticing the concerned looks on the faces of her son and husband. "Of course, I'm happy. We're both so excited for you. So tell me all about your fiancee. What's she like? What's her name?"

"Diana." He answered with a wistful smile. Lauren and Michael shared a look, Scotty was love struck and it was obvious to anyone who saw him. Before he could continue talking, a beautiful redhead hugged him from behind. Scotty turned and kissed her passionately. This must be the infamous Diana.

"This is my fiancee, Diana Carter." Lauren's blood turned cold. Diana Carter, she knew of a Diana Carter. She scolded herself for jumping to conclusions. Both Diana and Carter were extremely common names. The odds of Scotty's Diana being the same Diana was a million to one. The woman in question removed herself from the loving embrace. Diana turned her head to introduce herself and Lauren froze; she would recognize that smile anywhere, Sheila.
