Chaos and Discomfort

Chapter Nine

"Phone, phone." I say looking at people eating at their tables. I spot an unattended table, and an unattended phone. I swear people are so stupid. I grab the phone off the table and walk away. I took a phone from a couple who inevitably noticed and started chasing me through the street. I was running, probably the fastest I've ever ran.
"I'm sorry! I need to text call my friends!" I yell sprinting away from them
"Hey get back here!" The man yells, I ignore him and turn a corner and hear a bunch of familiar cheering
I walk down to the beach, and see a familiar group packing our boat. JJ.
"Guys?" I say and they stop moving
"Oh my god!" Kie says and JJ gets out of the boat and I run into his arms
"I thought I wasn't gonna see you again." I say rubbing my hands through his hair
"I know, I know. It's okay, your okay. That's all that matters." He says putting his hands on my face and kissing my forehead
"I missed you so much." I hug him again
"It was two days " He jokes his voice breaks and he lets go
"Don't ever do that to me again." He says
"I thought it was just two days. " I say putting my hands on his cheeks
"Let's go the fuck home. " I pull him into a hug and rub his back
"Where the hell were you." John b says mad but still hugs me
"I was gonna call Kie, at a phone booth. I thought I still had my wallet but I must have lost it somewhere. So I uh stole a ladies phone, and then they were chasing me through the street, and now here I am." I rant
"You stole?" Pope says
"I didn't say I was proud of it." I laugh
"You have no idea how much I missed you." Kie says pulling me into a hug
"I missed you more. Especially after third wheeling for a day" I say and shoot John b and Sarah a dirty look
"You didn't have to come." He laughs
"Alright let's get movin' " pope says
We all get into the boat and Pope and JJ push us out.

"Okay, no? That is not what happened!" Sarah says
"Okay fine here is how it went down, okay. 'John b i love you let's get married' 'can we get a puppy?' That's how it went." I mock them
"That's pretty accurate actually." John b says
"Thank you."
"So your a married man now, huh?" JJ asks him
"Yup. Crazy isn't it?"
"Yeah, reaaal crazy."
"Don't get any ideas though, you're not marrying my sister." Sarah laughs
"What?! Bro I wasn't even gonna say that!" JJ yells
"Come on Sarah, they can get married when they want to." Kie says
"Yeah, sarah we can get married when we want to." I sass and stick my tongue out at her and she does the same to me
"So you guys got married, Sarah got shot, and Izzy stole?" pope says
"Yup." I yawn as it's been getting dark out and k havent slept well in a while.
"What about you guys? You hold the fort down?" John b asks
"Yup, you know. Almost drowned, ward killed Gavin, we got in a car accident, and pope almost got kidnapped. So you know, really held the fort down." Kie says
"You almost drowned?"
"Ward shot someone?"
"Car accident?" I ask
"Yeah, and uh sorry Sarah." JJ says
"Not surprised at this point." She sighs
"Wait who did he shoot?" John b asks
"Uh- our pilot. Gavin." I say
"Oh my god." Sarah says
"And the drowning?" John b asks
"Ward dropped the gun down a drain after he shot Gavin, we thought it would get dumped into the north drain. But it ended up in the storm drain and then Rafe flushed us out and they couldn't get the lid thing off." I say
"Oh that's- that's not surprising actually." Sarah says
"Yeah but we took care of it." Pope says
"Sure did pope." I laugh and lean my head into JJs lap
"And what's that all about?" John b asks
"Forgiveness is a wonderful thing." I smile
"Oh thank god." Sarah sighs
"What do you mean 'oh thank god'" I mock
"You guys were like two bombs we were waiting to explode."
"My bad." I say
"Well it's fine now because you're back together." She says
"Not yet." JJ says
"Oh boy." John b says
"Sometimes forgiveness takes a bit." I yawn
"Right." John b laughs
JJ, Kie, Sarah, and I were all sleeping while pope and John b swapped places driving.
"Iz get up." JJ says lifting my head up
"I'm hungry." I whine
"We're gonna find some food." Sarah says stepping off the boat
"Finally." I say following her and Kie into the woods
"Ugh! Jackpot!" Kie says holding up a watermelon
"Mmm holy shit." I say shoving watermelon into my mouth
"So you guys actually got married?" Kie asks Sarah
"It wasn't exactly legal, but..."
"Yeah, yeah you did." I smile
"Am I crazy or is there definitely something going on between you and pope?" Sarah asks
"Maybe." She shrugs
"That's not a no!" I say
"Girl." Sarah says and we all laugh
We get up and pick another watermelon for the boys to eat and head back to the boat.
"Hi." Sarah says inturrupting them
"What yall talking about?" I ask
"Uh... fishing." John b says
"Dropping lures." JJ says
"Okay." Kie says knowing their lying
"Need help?" JJ asks me
"Thanks." I say giving him my hand and he helps me onto the boat
"What's that now?" Pope asks
"I got breakfast." Kie says holding up a watermelon

"There she is." John b says looking at the chateau
"Bet it is good to see her old bones." JJ says
"Welcome home guys." I say
"You know I got to be honest, not exactly looking forward to a check in at home." Kie says
"I feel that." I say
"You are not going home." Sarah says
"My parents probably already planned my funeral." Kie say
"I also predict unpleasantries at the Heyward household after I left the truck in Charleston ." Pope says
"No one knows we're here, right?" Jj says
"And you two aren't going to get into anymore trouble for showing up 12 hours later. Am I right?"!
"Your not wrong." Pope says
"So that means we have 12 hours to do whatever we want." JJ says
"Let shit hit the fan tomorrow." John b says
"Yeah!"
"The cops could be looking for us. It could be really stupid." Sarah says
"Sarah Cameron, you've heard of my philosophy right?" JJ says
"No."
"Stupid things have good outcomes all the time." JJ says and we all mock him
"Let's get some beer!" I say jumping down from the rail
"Whoo!" JJ yells grabbing my hand
