Dorf and Link were racing sand seals to the southern oasis while Zelda and Urbosa discussed things. It took some convincing for Dorf to convince Link to leave Zelda in Garudo town, but when Dorf told him that the Warriors would surround Zelda, Link finally agreed. It was nice to do this again. With all that is happening, they sometimes forget that they are not adults yet. While Link was renting one, Dorf was on his personal sand seal, which he named Arthur. It was a yellow sand seal that had a scar across his eye.
Dorf made it to the bass of Southern Oasis first, but Link was close behind him. The race wasn't done yet. This oasis differed from the one at the outpost just outside Garudo town. This one was on top of a razed rock, and to win the race, one had to reach the water first. Dorf started to scale up the rocks. The link was right behind him. They both reached the top simultaneously and ran straight for the water. There was a big splash as both landed in the water." Ha, I win, Link!" Link huffed." Are you blind? I got here first." Link only talks openly with people he cares about or is necessary. Link started talking to Dorf and Zelda a few months after they met as children. Dorf splashed Link with the water, and they ended up in a water fight.
When they finally stopped, and the two sat on the edge of the oasis looking out at the desert, Dorf sighed." Hey, Link, do you ever get dreams about your past lives?" Link gives his friend a confident look." No, why are you asking?" Dorf frowns." Neither does Zelda, but as far as I can remember, I've had dreams of the past Gannondorf lives and all the bad things they have done. It's like my past selves are trying to get me to go down the same path that they did. At first, after seeing their memories, I was disgusted by how different we are, but as it kept going, I noticed similarities between me and my past lives, and I thought, am I different from them? No matter how I try, I will eventually like them." Link puts his hand on Dorf's shoulder." You are not them, Dorf. You are kind, caring, and empathetic. From what I've learned, none of them were like that. They were apathetic and selfish. You are my brother in all but blood, and I know Zelda feels the same." Dorf started crying, but getting it off his chest was nice.
