Where Have You Gone

Chapter 2️⃣7️⃣

It was a cold morning, the rain was drizzling slowly outside. Becky was on autopilot mode obviously in a hurry to get somewhere very important. She took her black sling bag and started to put some packs of crisps, a bottle of water, an umbrella, her air pods, her glasses and her cane. (Yes you read it right, her cane).

When she was about to exit her house, "Where are you going, Bec?", Irin's voice echoed through the room.

Becky stood still near the door and turned towards the direction of Erin's sound.

"Again? After All these years?", Irin let out a deep sigh.

"Irin please, don't start. I don't want to argue with you today. Please, you know...", Even before Becky finished, she felt a pair of hands holding her own. It was Irin's.

"Bec, I know, but still. Please try to move on I don't wish to see you like this after everything that happened. I'm not very pleased to see you wasting your love and feelings for someone who doesn't deserve you. Try to understand you have someone now, who wishes to spend the rest of her life with you. Consider the proposal Bec".

Irin felt how Becky's body got rigid when she spoke about moving on. She knows Becky doesn't like people talking about moving on, but Irin is not only Becky's friend but she is family now. She can't let Becky suffer alone. She wanted Becky to have a life of her own.

"Irin, please". Becky was on the verge of getting emotional about the topic, and Irin had to give up.

"I hope we'll talk in the evening. I expect you back before Anne comes back from school".

Becky left the place with a little nod.

Irin saw Becky walking out of the door gracefully not worrying about having a cane on her hand and that almost big black glasses on her face.

She took out her phone and texted Becky's brother and now husband Richie.

I tried... I tried, but she... huff. Becky is Becky

She got a disappointed emoji back from her husband.

She closed the door and turned back, and her sight fell on the big photo of her and Richie at their wedding and a big photo on the other wall of Becky laughing hard with the three-year-old Anne in her lap.

Irin's eyes welled with tears. Everything has changed in these five years. Irin and Richie got married and they had Anne. Grandma and Grandpa died before they had Anne.

Richie's parents moved to their village after Richie got married. They no longer come back to the city, they always wanted to spend their last years in their village. Richie and Becky visited them once a month.

Richie and Irin have taken over Becky's company, which has grown massively in the field. It has become the next ad agency in the country.

Whatever happened, Irin took it for good except for the thing that Becky lost her sight. Though Becky has accepted her fate, Irin and Richie can't.
