A step beyond, no turning back,
A love once bright fades to black.
Choices made, the past is gone,
Yet echoes of it linger on.✨.................................✨
Minho's POV:
When I reached the back door, just a breath away from entering, the sudden eruption of gunfire sent a jolt of terror through my veins. Then, Felix's panicked scream tore through the earpiece, sending a shockwave through my entire body.
"Jisung, no!" Felix's voice was raw with fear, the desperation in his words hitting me like a sledgehammer.
I froze, the air around me turning ice-cold. "Felix, what happened to Jisung?!" I barked, barely able to keep the tremor out of my voice.
His reply was shaky, barely coherent through the sobs that choked him. "Hyung, please... hurry. Jisung... he's been shot."
A crushing weight settled on my chest. Jisung—my brother, my responsibility—was lying somewhere, bleeding out, and I wasn't there to protect him. The fear twisted into anger, igniting a fire that threatened to consume me.
"Chan, where the hell are you?!" I shouted into the earpiece, hoping for some sort of response, but there was nothing—only a chilling silence. The realization hit me hard: Viper's men had gotten to him, too.
There was no time to process, no room for hesitation. We were walking into a trap. "Felix, you need to turn on the alarms and cut the lights. Now!" My voice was sharp, commanding, but all I heard from the other end was the sound of Felix's panicked breathing.
"Felix, listen to me! You have to do this. If you don't, we're all dead!" I yelled, trying to cut through his fear with the sheer force of my words.
But then his voice, shaky and broken, cut through. "Hyung, I can't. I've been blocked. Someone's preventing me from accessing the systems. They're shutting me out."
"Fuck!" I shouted, the frustration boiling over. We were blind, helpless, and the walls were closing in around us.
"Felix, stay with me!" I ordered, but before I could get another word in, the line went dead. The silence that followed was deafening.
Before I could make another move, a cold, hard presence pressed against the back of my head. A gun. My body went rigid, every muscle tensing as I felt the barrel dig into my skull.
"Drop your weapon," a voice commanded from behind me, low and menacing.
I clenched my jaw, the fire inside me turning into a cold, deadly resolve. I could feel the weight of my gun in my hand, but I knew one wrong move, and it was over. For me, for Jisung, for all of us.
Slowly, I released my grip on the gun, letting it fall to the ground with a heavy thud. My mind raced, searching for a way out, a plan, anything. But all I could think of was Jisung, bleeding out somewhere, and the sound of Felix's desperate cries echoing in my ears.
