When silence falls, the echoes stay,
Of battles fought and lost.
In the winds, a fragile peace,
But shadows bear the cost.
Scattered dreams and broken chains,
In the ruins, truth reveals.
The winds of change now fade away,
Yet healing slowly heals

Hyunjin's POV:

My words were sharp, dripping with venom, but Mark remained silent. His expression was unreadable as he stood there, staring at me. Then, to my shock, he did something I never expected—he dropped to his knees. His head bowed, and his hands rested on his thighs in a gesture of submission. The sight of him kneeling before me was jarring, surreal.

"What are you doing?" I demanded, my voice tight with disbelief.

Mark kept his head down, not daring to meet my gaze. The silence stretched on, heavy and suffocating, as I waited for him to speak, to explain this bizarre act. But he remained wordless, and the longer the silence persisted, the more my anger simmered beneath the surface.

"What is this, Mark? Some kind of sick game?" I growled, stepping closer until I towered over him. "Speak. Now."

Finally, he looked up, his eyes filled with something I hadn't seen in him before—genuine fear. "I have no other choice, Hyunjin," he whispered. "I came to offer my loyalty. Viper is gone, and I know what that means for all of us. I'm not here to threaten you. I'm here because I know you're the only one who can protect me now."

Mark remained on his knees, his eyes wide with fear, as if the walls were closing in on him. "Viper was the only one who protected me from Minho. Now, with Viper gone, Minho will come after me. I don't stand a chance."

"You should have thought of that before you used me to ambush Minho," I spat, the bitterness of betrayal still fresh in my voice. The memories of Mark's manipulation flooded back, and the anger I'd buried surged to the surface.

Mark had been the one who betrayed me, setting up a trap that nearly destroyed everything I cared about. He'd orchestrated events, feeding me lies to turn me against Minho, to weaken the very foundation of what I had built with him. All of it, just to satisfy his twisted vendetta against Minho.

"I know, I know," Mark stammered, his voice cracking with desperation. "I was angry."

"Angry?" I snapped, my eyes narrowing. "What happened between you and Minho? How did you become his enemy?"

Mark hesitated, his gaze shifting to the floor as if searching for the right words. "He... he was... was my boyfriend," he finally admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.

"What?" The word left my lips before I could stop it, disbelief flooding my system.

"I wanted revenge for what he did to me," Mark continued, his tone growing more desperate. "He broke me, Hyunjin. He didn't just leave me—he wanted to kill me"

"Bullshit," I said, my eyes narrowing further. "You expect me to believe that?"

"I swear it's true," Mark insisted, his voice trembling. "Ask Chan if you don't believe me. He knows."

"Why would Minho want to kill you?" I demanded, my mind racing to make sense of it all.

Mark swallowed hard, his voice barely a whisper. "Because... because I'm Viper's son."

The revelation hit me like a punch to the gut. Seungmin's brother. That made this even more twisted, more complicated than I could have imagined. "You're Seungmin's brother? And Minho didn't tell me? He kept this from me?"
