XXXII

I run straight out the door, onto the grassy plain. I run through the gardens, away from the mess I created. I run from my problems, something I am so accustomed to.

Eventually my vision and hearing retune and I can hear and see everything around me, including the three Alphas chasing me through the garden. I should've known, never run from an Alpha. It excites them, leaning into their primal urges, their wolves on the surface. I look back to see three pairs of pitch black eyes in the darkness. They hunt me like I'm their prey and in competition to see who can win me first. I keep running but my heels get stuck to the mud.

Eventually I stop, thinking I got far enough away to hide. I lean my fatigued body against a tree and try to breathe. I'm terrified, not that they'll hurt me but that whoever catches me first will take their prize, something I'm willing to give but shouldn't be, me.

Eventually I catch my breath, holding my hand to my chest to slow my heart rate. Before I know it two hands slam against the tree behind me and I look up to see two menacing dark eyes.
"Why are you running little mate," Raph says in a gravelly voice that is barely his own.
Before I can answer, he throws me over his shoulder like a deer he's just killed. I don't even fight. Fighting with his wolf would be futile, I would loose. I let him carry my limp body through the woods. As we approach the gardens, I see Adam and Luke yelling in the office through the windows. I feel the urge to run again so I squirm and kick agains Raphael who responds with a painful spank on the ass. In return I spank his ass lightly and I hear the deep chuckle of his wolf before he smacks my ass harder than before. I yip in response and give in.

"Already done little mate, don't you know I like it when you fight back. Makes it more fun when you give in."

I go limp once again, not adding fun to this stupid fucking situation. I see the blinding light of the building as he drags me through the door and straight into the office where Adam and Luke are now standing in silence. He sets me down and stands by the door, guarding me from any escape.

I was stuck, owing an explanation, one I didn't want to give. Dark hungry eyes stared at me from around the room, staring at me like I was their next meal. I look down at my appearance. My dress is black. The v-neck accentuates my breasts as my chest heaves. Breasts that weren't a secret to those in the room. Laid on top of those breasts is a diamond necklace, the diamond hanging on a silver chain laid over the curve, matching the glisten from my earrings. My hands run nervously down the velvet material, the velvet material that meets my sheer black stockings above my knees, the lace peeks out below my skirt after all the running. The stockings run down to my black heels, the bottoms covered with mud and grass. Hair wild, dress shifting, underwear peaking out my dress and all of this meaning nothing because they caught me anyway. I'm trapped. Trapped between three men, their gaze devouring my sweaty frame. I think about screaming for help, wanting a way out. But I don't. I don't want a way out I want a way in. I want to be fucked, raw hard and sweat filled fucking. But I know all they want right now is for me to talk.

"Hey guys, whatsup?" I say casually, trying to act like they didn't just chase me through the forest attached to the garden.
"Explain yourself Reine, now," Adam says forcefully.
"What is there to explain?" I ask nonchalantly.
"I would like to believe that this scumbag was responsible for what we saw, but only guilty people run Reine so talk," Adam says with a look of seriousness in his eyes.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I say. I want to be honest but I'm scared of hurting them. I look to Luke who looks defeated, hanging his head in shame looking away from me. I turn to look at the door and see Raphael looking at Luke in a way that almost promised death.
"Okay," Adam says in a calm voice that unnerved me. "If there's really nothing to talk about, you won't mind if I do this." Adam grabs the defeated Luke by the neck and pins him against the wall. Paintings fall down and Luke doesn't bother to fight back knowing it's pointless.
"OKAY okay I'll talk, just don't hurt him," I scream.
Adam looks back to me pained almost like he was hoping I'd let Luke die. He releases Lukes neck and he falls to the floor, gasping for air.
"I'm listening," he says.
"I know Luke, Alpha Catrone, we went to university together," I say.
"Keep talking Reine or I swear to the goddess I will kill him right now."
"Umm..." I struggle to find the right words to describe what we were. "We were friends, and then we were slightly more and then we weren't," I say hoping he won't ask any more questions.
He looks away from me, pained. "You dated?" He asks in a quiet broken voice, like the idea sickened him.
"No, it was just a stupid distraction that was barely anything." Now the one who looked pained was Luke like I'd taken his heart and crushed it in my hands.
"And it was over before you came home?" Raphael asks and I turn to face him. He looks uncomfortable but not as pained as the others.
"Yes, long before," I say sighing.
"And what happened earlier," Adam says looking up into my eyes with hope I didn't betray him.
I pause stumbling over my words before a croaky broken voice speaks up.
"That was my fault," Luke says as he stands trying to regain his balance. "I pulled Reine in here to tell her that I love her and I want to be with her. She rejected me and tried to leave which is when I stopped her and pinned her against the wall."

I see anger bubbling within Adam but just as he lunged towards Luke, I grabbed him by the shoulders and whispered, "I'm all yours only yours, please don't hurt him anymore."
Luke breathes in and out steadying his breath.
He reaches his hand out to Luke and for a moment I am frightened but his hand stills. Luke responds and shakes his hand.
"Alpha Catrone, I apologise for the misunderstanding," Adam says but he harshly pulls Luke back in and whispers "If I ever catch you touching, looking or even near my mate again you are a dead man." Luke nods in response.
"Thank you Alpha Guerra, I hope this does not deter your opinion of me during your investigation. I truly care about the well-being of my pack," Luke says as Adam releases his harsh grip on his hand. He looks shortly to me with pained eyes before making his way to the door. Raphael stood unmoving.
"I think it's best if you leave our territory now, we will resume the investigation shortly," Raphael says. He moves out of the way as Luke nods and opens the door to leave.

Once Luke is gone, I just look to the ground in shame and confusion. Why was I so scared and why did I lie. I should've told them immediately. I feel a rough palm softly grab my chin and tilt my head up to look in a pair of baby blue eyes.
"Hey, don't cry," Adam dotes.
I look up at him with teary eyes, not even aware I was crying.
"It's okay, I made you a promise, the past is in the past. Just don't keep it from me again if another one of your conquests comes knocking at the door," he says laughing slightly but I could tell he was pained.
I aggressively shook my head, "No no," I blubbered out. "No more, only one," I say.
He sighs with relief and exhaustion. I feel two strong arms wrapped around me from behind as Raphael's scent filled my nostrils.
"We love you," Raphael says.
Adam gives me a chaste kiss on the lips before lifting me bridal style and taking me upstairs, Raphael trailing behind.
I panic realising all the guests that were in our living room and bar. Raphael looks to me. "Don't worry I shut it down earlier," he says. I nod back wearily.
I really fucked this up. My first event as Luna and it gets shut down early because I was caught under the visiting Alpha. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided not to go through with the ceremony tomorrow.
"Hey, don't do that, you're a great Luna who had an off night. Tomorrow will be perfect, trust me," Adam says trying to comfort me.

I could really use a perfect day.
