Eddy stepped out of the building, looking so stunningly handsome it took Brett’s breath away.
“H… hi”, he stuttered, eyes sweeping over the dark blue button-up and jeans shorts Eddy was wearing. And had this guy gotten a haircut between yesterday and this morning? Brett knew it was impossible unless they had a secret barber with ridiculous opening hours residing in the dorms but what else had he done with his hair?
“Hi”, Eddy smiled, sending the caterpillars in Brett’s belly off again, “All dressed up!”
“What a shame”, a brazen part of Brett he hadn’t known existed till now meant and he immediately clasped his mouth with both hands while Eddy’s eyes widened in surprise, cheeks taking on a very adorable colour.
“God, Eddy! I didn’t mean to…”, he rambled in shock because yeah, his brain was actually aware of the fact that this was beyond appropriate for this stage of their not-yet-established-relationship.
Eddy looked away and mumbled, “Nothing you haven’t seen yet, theoretically” which sent Brett flying.
“And I spot no security guy anywhere, by the way!”
“Got ya!”, Brett laughed, “Alright! Brought breakfast and coffee. The good stuff btw., not the hotel thing!”
“Awesome! And you brought your violin as well?” Eddy pointed at the case on Brett’s back.
Brett nodded. “Always, of course!”
“I have something in mind and we might need them! Wanna go to the park so we can lighten your load?”
“Sure!”
He handed Eddy a cup out of which he immediately took an appreciative sip and together, they leisurely strolled towards the Royal Botanic Gardens to look for a place to sit.

“Here’s a good spot, no?”, Eddy said and gestured at a grassy area surrounded by beautiful flowers in the shadow of neighbouring trees.
“Perfect!”, Brett groaned as he lowered himself to the ground and started unpacking the baked goods and apples. “It’s not much but I figured we’re gonna fill our calorie intake with bubble tea at some point anyway, so…”
“Good point”, Eddy agreed with a chuckle and sat down next to Brett, their knees of their crossed legs touching. Brett handed him a croissant and it didn’t take much time until everything was devoured.

“Are you gonna tell me what we’re up to today?”, Brett asked and brought the paper cup filled with slowly cooling flat white to his lips.
“Nah!”, Eddy sighed, leaning back on his arms with a satisfied expression.
“Oh come on!”, Brett complained, propped himself on his right arm in a half lying position so he could match Eddy’s eye level.
“Patience, love. Don’t you wanna be surprised?”
“Kinda yes, but also no.”
Eddy laughed. “You’re so adorable, you know that?”
“Huh?”, Brett creased his brows, “Is that a good or bad thing?”
“Good of course! I love adorable”, Eddy stated with a smug grin, “Well, I didn’t think I would because I didn’t care before. But when it comes to you…”
The tenderness in his gaze. Brett gulped and felt his face heat up as Eddy slowly closed the gap between them.
“Adorable enough so you’d consider kissing me?”, Brett whispered.
Eddy licked his upper lip and Brett shivered despite the rising temperature.
“Haven’t gotten one today so I’m actually starving for one…”
“Go ahead then”, Brett subtly raised an eyebrow, trying to play over the fact that Eddy’s breath, Eddy’s scent this close without them touching was driving him nuts and slowly, very slowly, Eddy finally brought his lips to Brett’s.

Oh softness, gentleness, sweetness, divinity. It was all in that one single touch and it clouded Brett’s brain so there was no way he could hold back the grunt bubbling up his throat. Eddy’s responding moan caused him to part his lips slightly and when he felt the tip of Eddy’s tongue against his own, his remaining senses went out the window and splashed into the nearby pond, probably startling all the fish inside.

They could be seen by someone who knew them, their peers or their conductors even, taking a walk in the gardens themselves in the cool morning air but hell, Brett couldn’t care less. He laid his hand on Eddy’s neck and pulled him closer, deepening their kiss further which Eddy seemed to consider a good idea judging by the way he leaned in, his fingers caressing Brett’s glowing cheek in the process. Their tongues became bolder, wilder until both were breathless and yet unwilling to let the other go to take in much needed oxygen.
“Shit!”, Eddy sweetly cursed in-between wild kisses, his second hand suddenly very present and slowly travelling down Brett’s side.
“Hmm”, was all Brett managed in response. His head was swimming in a mix of desire and pleasure, when his body started to respond in a definitely not public friendly way.
“Fu… wait, Eddy…”
“Hmmm…”
He didn’t want to. In fact, he despised the little bit of awareness he had left for softly pushing Eddy away until their contact broke.
“Sor… sorry”, he uttered, “uhm…”
Eddy’s lashes fluttered confused until his gaze wandered across Brett’s flushed face, and down. It didn’t help that Brett chose to wear beige shorts today.
“Oh”, he made, eyes wide and the bright red colour on his cheeks intensifying by the second.
“Yeah”, Brett huffed, not knowing if he should bury himself under that tree over there or jump into the pond to cool down and look for his much needed sanity floating in the water. Talk about embarrassing, getting this flustered and worked up because of an admittedly very awesome kiss, out here, not to mention!
“Uhm… I’m so sorry… I…”
“No”, Eddy hurried and turned away quickly, “No, please don’t… you know… apologize. I… uhm… never thought…”
Brett looked up again, eyelids opening and closing wildly because wait, Eddy didn’t sound weirded out. The glow of his face, the shine in his eyes even visible from the side…
“I…”, he stuttered, “... never thought someone could like me this much to…”
“Oh, Eddy, love!”
Brett took Eddy’s hand right this second. “Why do you think that? Kiss anyone like this and they become like me!”
“But look at me! I’m tall, lanky, weird and a music nerd!”
“You’re the fucking best looking music nerd I’ve ever seen, Eddy! And yeah, to put it mildly…” He had to say it, even if embarrassment was still very present and increasing with what he was going to admit next, “...you and what you just did to me turn me on. Very much so!”
Eddy sat up a bit, his shining eyes on Brett. “Really?”, he asked, still sounding unconvinced.
“Of course really! I mean, it’s not like I wanted it to happen! But it did, because of you.”

They both sat there, their breathing still fast and Brett’s heart rate showing no interest whatsoever to slow down a tad.

Eventually, Eddy quietly and sort of bashfully meant, “You… you called me ‘love’.”
“Oh”, Brett made, “Uhm, yeah. Should have long ago!”
“I’m not calling you that so you have to call me that too.”
“I know”, Brett reassured, “It just jumped out from my most inner being, I guess.”
Eddy snorted which made Brett relax a bit. “Jumped out”, he sniggered.
“If you wanna call off our date, this is your chance.”
The taller whipped his head around. “Why the hell would I want to do that?”
“I’m not weirding you out?”, Brett grinned crookedly.
“Brett! You know you’re getting more adorable in my eyes the more time we spend together? And I’m pretty sure we’ve already established that I very much like adorable.”
Brett shook his head incredulously, squeezing the hand in his tenderly. “I’m lucky then.”
“Nah”, Eddy said with a small smile, his plump lips dangerously close to Brett’s again, “I am.”
