SEPTEMBER 8, FRIDAY, 17:28
Soonyoung walks over to the mirror, this time in a different shirt from the one he was wearing five minutes ago. It's still too hot for even a sweater vest, so this graphic tee should do the trick. A pleasant ding notifies that he got a text message and he scurries over to his phone.
"Where you headin' off to? Hot date?" DK asks from over at his desk, eyes darting between his many textbooks splayed out.
"Nah, about to go babysit."
DK perks up, "You babysit?"
"Yep! Helping out a cousin. He has three little brothers I watch every now and then."
"Three?" DK asks, raising his eyebrows.
Soonyoung nods, "They're each one year apart. Their mom is always overseas working and he is actually the one with a hot date, so he needed the night off and I said I'd help him out."
DK lets out a low whistle, "Damn, that must be something else. Sounds like something from anime." to which Soonyoung laughs at.
"Haha, totally! And they're actually not too bad, surprisingly! A lot of energy for sure, but they listen. For the most part." It is at this moment when an idea strikes Soonyoung, and he glances over to Dokyeom. The guy has been studying all day, even before Seungkwan left to go get food with his dad and that was hours ago.
"So, I take it you like kids?"
DK has gone back to his textbooks and flips over to a new page. "Oh yeah, totally."
"Well..." Fuck it. Here goes nothing. "Wanna come with me?"
Dokyeom turns around with a pout, "Mmmm, I don't know, I mean—"
"What? You somehow still have more shit to study for?" Soonyoung walks over and leans on the cluttered desk. "You've been at it for hours, dude. Hours! You need a break to not think. Trust me, these kids are super fun and cute, then after we put them to bed we can eat all my cousin's ice cream and watch TV." Temptation raises a persuasive brow on DK and Soonyoung knows he almost has him. "Pllleeeaaasseeeeee? It pays well, and besides, their house is pretty damn big so of course it's all spooky and shit at night when I'm alone. If anything, I am a friend in desperate need!"
DK has to tear his eyes away from Soonyoung's biggest display of puppy dog eyes and closes the textbook with a grandpa-like groan. "Fiiiinnneeeee."
"Yay! You good to go in that, or you wanna change? We just have to be at the front of the gates at six to get picked up. Let me text my cousin real quick to get the ok."
DK stands and Soonyoung gulps. He forgot the guy was wearing basketball shorts (...mid thigh... ) with that muscle tee.
"Mmm, I'll just grab a hoodie and then we can go."
Soonyoung bussies himself on his phone while all too occasionally glances up at the other cutely scurrying around the dormroom, gathering his phone, wallet, and a hoodie.
"Ok, good to go!" Dokyeom says five minutes later, and the two head off.
There's a bus stop nearby that'll take them to the front gate, and they catch it just in time. The boys fill their ride with small talk and jokes, then fifteen minutes later they hop off at the front gate. Soonyoung and DK wait their turn to present their student IDs and fill out a form on the tablets at a kiosk to state where they're going, why, and when they plan on returning. It takes approximately two minutes for a worker to review both of their forms and gives them the greenlight to go ahead and pass.
