By the time they reached the palace, the sun had already set. Likely as not, the pathway used by Cruel and his royal companion stationed a group of Remoirtan sentries.

"Looks like they're waiting for your return, Princess." Cruel mumbled to Juliet.

She frowns, worried about the situation.

The young assassin senses her dread, leading him to approach the monarch. "Trust me, Princess. I'll protect you, no matter what happens." Cruel said as he stood right in front of her.

Her creased brows softened at his words. But instead of answering, she simply nods to acknowledge him. Shortly after that, they appeared before the guards. Just as they expected, Prince Ariez was also present.

"Where have you been, senorita?" The Remoirtan Prince asked with a glum expression, almost like a disappointed, sulking child.

Princess Juliet was just about to speak, ready to excuse herself. But before she could...

"Her Royal Highness wanted to go out for some fresh air," Cruel stepped up and answered the Remoirtan Prince. "Fear not, Princess Juliet was simply curious about your homeland, Your Highness." While bowing his head, he spoke to Ariez as politely as he could.

The Remoirtan Prince raised a brow, "I'm not speaking to you, am I?"

"My Prince, please settle down." Princess Juliet spoke up and approached Ariez. "I was merely taking a stroll outside. There is nothing to worry about."

Ariez clenched his jaws as if he wanted to say something more. "Hmph," he crosses his arms, "Are you sure you two are not lovers?" He asked while fiercely gazing into Juliet's blue eyes.

"Do you take me for a harlot, Prince Ariez?" With a sharp tone, Juliet asked.

Somehow, her courteous retaliation elicited a smirk on Cruel's face, further aggravating Ariez.

"You... I knew your pretty face hides a vicious heart," Prince Ariez sneered, rubbing his knuckles beneath his nostrils. "But I expected such a thing. In truth, I like it." He says while walking up behind Juliet. "Please, forgive me for making such an assumption."

Princess Juliet remained silent for a minute before she spoke again. "I am quite exhausted. Could you please ask your servants to prepare the bath for me?"

"My, of course. Anything for you my beautiful, cold fiancee." Ariez bows elegantly, paving the way for Juliet. As she passes through the line of guards, the Remoirtan Prince gives Cruel a cold glare.

What an arrogant piece of shit, Cruel thought while he followed them behind.

As Juliet requested, she was sent to the royal chambers where a warm bath was prepared for her. In the meantime, Cruel stood outside with Prince Ariez.

"So, you are a Lawsin... does that mean you are more than just a bodyguard?" The Remoirtan Prince questioned, darting his silver eyes at Cruel.

Cruel stands his ground. Great, another royal idiot is questioning me, he thought.

"I fail to understand your question, Your Highness." Instead of answering, Cruel decides to play dumb.

Ariez scoffs, placing a hand on his hip, "Have you got no common sense or are you acting like a fool on purpose?" He waved his other hand in Cruel's face.

"But I wouldn't know what you are asking unless you elaborate, Your Highness," Cruel replied.

Ariez lowers his head, rubbing his temples furiously. "Your reputation... you are from a line of assassins, are you not?"
