A Girl, A Boy And A Whole Lot Of Random.
Introduction.
I swear I'm not a hateful person. If you saw me on the street, you really wouldn't feel the need to cross the road because I'm not intimidating. I'm nice to pretty much everyone and I'm the kind of girl who would hold open a door for an old person. However, there are two people on this earth whom I hate; Jamie Woods and my mother.
For a lot of little girls their mothers are their idols and they look up to them. From the age of 7, I was the exact the opposite. I aspired to be everything that my mother wasn't. Kind, caring and reliable. Oh, and maybe sober every once and a while.
I remember the first time my mother left us. I was 6 years old and it was an ordinary night. I remember waking up as she came in and kissed me goodnight and then proceeded to steal my piggy bank. I didn't think much of it at the time, as I was like all my friends, I looked up to my mother and I loved her with all my little heart. Pfft. How little and naive I was. What I didn't realize was that my mother didn't care for me at all, or my father for that matter.
A week later she was back. A "holiday" was where my dad told me she had gone. And the naive little girl I was, I believed it.
I remember clearly, there was a lot more fighting between my parents. A lot more door slamming and a lot more of my mom coming home drunk out of her mind.
When I asked my dad about my mom acting strange and always falling and saying strange things, he just smiled and told me she had had too many sweets. Yeah sure. Sweets.
At age 13, my mom left once again, but this time she never returned. At this point I was older and I understood that my mom had left us and didn't care about us at all.
She wrote my dad and me a letter telling us she had gone to England to live her life and that we were just holding her back. How motherly.
That was literally the last we heard from her. No Christmas cards or birthday cards. Nothing. Until one day, we received an unexpected letter in the post. She had invited us to her wedding.
Oh and Jamie? Well he's my dad's best friend's son. Also the most spoiled prick in all the world. Oh and my "escort " to my Mom's wedding.
