Chapter 7
“Truce?
Was I dreaming? Did Jamie Woods just ask me for a truce? Someone please pinch me. I started to pinch my arm but Jamie stopped me.
“Why are you pinching your self? God, you are so weird!” I simply glared at him.
“I thought we were on a truce.” I said sarcastically.
“So, you agree? At least for this week, okay? When we go back home, we'll see what happens but for this week can we just have a truce?” He seemed so serious, almost desperate. I couldn't understand why but I was so alone. I really needed someone to help get me through this week. Why not accept?
I studied Jamie's face for a moment, to see if he really was sincere. He didn't look at me, but kept his stare firmly on the floor. I could see why so many girls liked him, he really was good looking.
“Okay, truce.” I replied, giving him a weak smile. He smiled back at me. We both found ourselves in an awkward stare off. We stared back at each other for a few seconds. I felt almost like were we having a momen- No. No way.
“Hi.” Chace interrupted whatever was happening between me and Jamie. I had almost forgetten he was there. I thanked the lords. It would have been severely awkward if Jamie and I were alone. We would have to be nice to each other, and I did't know how to do that. Jamie turned his head to face Chace.
“Who the hell are you?” He demanded, rudely. What the hell was his problem? Chace looked at little taken back but, he answered Jamie confidently.
“I’m Chace Simons. Who the hell are you?” Chace replied calmly, keeping his expression composed. I had to fight back a grin, I could practically feel Jamie’s anger bubbling. I was pretty sure no-one ever spoke to Jamie like that, well, apart from me!
“I’m Sash’s boyfriend.” Jamie replied smoothly. I froze. What did he just say? Chace’s composure slipped a little, his eyes narrowing slightly.
“Eh, Jamie? What are you- OW!” Jamie effectively shut me up by pinching my leg, extremely hard.
“Oh look, we’ve nearly landed. Nice meeting you Chris.” Jamie turned around in his seat, a smug grin on his face.
“It’s Chace.” Chace replied, before a man announced over the intercom that we were about to land. I could feel my stomach drop. Jamie could wait to later, I had bigger problems.
Jamie glanced at me and I knew he knew that I was freaking out. Not just about meeting my mom but also landing part . I really hated the landing part.
Just as the planes wheels came down, Jamie took my hand once again and I immediately felt a lot calmer. How did Jamie, of all people, have this effect on me? Whatever was happening, I was grateful because with nerves of meeting my Mom and the nerves of the plane I think I would have passed out without at least a little support.
