Chapter 18
I couldn’t think, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t...anything! Chace’s lips were on mine and I just sat there like a frozen popsicle.
After a few seconds of me sitting there awkwardly not knowing what to do, Chace finally pulled away. I could feel my cheeks redden more than they have ever reddened, and I look down to the ground to avoid his eye contact, which felt like he was staring into my soul.
“Ehm, well..” Chace began but trailed off. I mentally sighed, well this was awkward.
“Well that was unexpected.” I announced finally after what seemed like an eternity of silence.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a while.” He admitted , looking slightly guilty. I really didn’t know how to react. It wasn’t that I didn’t like Chace, I mean he was nice and funny and attractive but I guess I really wasn’t expecting that.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.” Chace told me honestly, sounding upset.
“No, no I’m not uncomfortable, I just really wasn’t expecting that and you know the whole Jamie thing...” I muttered slightly, my voice hardly audible.
Chace sighed loudly. “Yeah, him.” I felt a small stab of guilt. Here was a perfectly good looking boy who was so nice and friendly, and I was thinking about a boy who has been my worst enemy for as long as I can remember, who was currently ignoring me for unknown reasons.
I knew in the back of my head that there was something small for Chace, but whether it was just lust or whatever, I didn’t know.
Chace began to get up to leave the room, but I pulled on his arm to stop him.
“Wait Chace!” I called softly. I stood up to face him and took a deep breath. “Let me just-”
I stood on my tippy toes and pressed my lips softly to Chace, this time knowing exactly what I was doing. His lips were soft and tasted of mint., nothing like the slobbery first kiss I had when I was about 11.
For a moment Chace didn’t respond and just stood there awkwardly, but that didn’t last for long. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to his chest and began to kiss me back. And boy, was he a good kisser. I may not have had the best experience in kissing but a girl knows when someone is a good kisser and Chace definitely feel into that category.
After a few seconds, I pulled away slowly and took a small step back, trying to control my breath. Chace looked at me intently and smiled.
“Wow, now I definitely wasn’t expecting that.” Chace told me, laughing slightly. I let out a shaky laugh.
“Yeah well..I just wanted to, you know..ehm.” I really was lost for words, I had no idea what to say plus I was still pretty shocked at what I had just done. Hearing my stuttering, Chace’s grin grew.
“Woah, you’re lost for words! I must be good.” He joked, lighting the mood. I rolled my eyes.
